Gareth Bale to Chelsea in January? Agent officially tells Lampard ‘deal could happen’
Chelsea target Gareth Bale has never asked to leave Real Madrid although he isn’t particularly happy at the club, according to his agent.
Now Bale has been in the headlines for all the wrong kind of reasons over the past 12 months as all indications suggested that he was finished at the Bernabeu, that fans wanted him out, and most importantly Zidane was keen to offload him in the coming transfer window.
There was even talk in the summer window that a number of clubs were prepared to offer around £60 million to try and get a deal done for Bale, but the Welshman decided that he wanted to stay and fight for his Madrid future, especially since he is getting a nice big wage at the Spanish giants
But the Welshman has not looked like the same player that helped Madrid to three Champions League, he is not happy at the club, and with the Chelsea now able to sign players in the January window, there has been some rumours that they could make a move.
And amid all the speculation, his agent Jonathan Barnett has opened the door for Chelsea to wrap up a possible deal, telling the BBC: “He’s not ecstatic.
“He has got a contract and as long as he is a Real Madrid player, he will play at 100 per cent – and do very well.
“He has never asked to leave. If the right opportunity came along for him and it’s something he wants to do we have to have a chat with the president of Real Madrid and see where we are at.”
Now look, we are not saying that Chelsea need to add Bale to their squad in January, and they don’t eed to splash a big amount of money to secure a deal. But the Blues need to add some experience to this very talented side, and they need game-changing superstars like Bale to come in and help take the club to that next level.
Lampard has the backing of the board to make some big money moves, and if he signs Bale, it would be to add some top level experience to the side.
