Brilliant Spaniard officially announces if he is JOINING Chelsea in summer

CHELSEA linked Gavi says he is intent on staying at Barcelona in the summer transfer window.

The Blues were the busiest sides in the January window, having splashed the cash to sign David Datro Fofana, Andrey Santos, Benoit Badiashile, Joao Felix and Mykhaylo Mudryk as former boss Graham Potter looked to strengthen his squad for the second phase of the season.

But the summer transfer window will give the Blues an opportunity to add a few more players to the side – and that has led to reports that the exciting Gavi is a player that the new boss now wants.

The Argentine is said to have “very clear” plans to rebuild the Chelsea squad, and wants to start by bringing in Gavi, who he “really likes”, although it will not be easy to orchestrate a transfer.

‘I want all of you to be calm on my future… I’m very calm,’ Gavi told Movistar.

‘Since I was little I’ve wanted to stay at Barca, it’s my dream club, I always say it.

‘Don’t worry, let everyone be calm.’

Speaking about the prospect of losing Gavi, Barca head coach Xavi stressed the importance of keeping the Spain international at Camp Nou.

‘I don’t think Gavi would be happy at another club,’ Xavi said last month.

‘He has everything here. He is 18 years old. He’s a key player of our team.

‘For me, he’s a footballer that is outstanding.

‘I don’t know what he’ll decide but I think his future is here at the club.’

Now we all know that Pochettino is coming to the club – it will be very interesting to see which players he signs.

He likes to work with both talents and experienced stars – so it should be a very exciting summer for CHELSEA fans to watch we are sure – but Gavi was never going to come to London.
