Get Solskjaer deal done quietly! Legend Giggs tells Manchester United to follow Man City example

Manchester United should appoint Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the club’s next permanent manager, claims legend Ryan Giggs.

Despite losing t PSG 2-0 in the Champions League last week, Solskjaer has done a wonderful job at Old Trafford since taking over from Jose Mourinho and the Red Devils are now one of the favourites to get back into the Champions League for next season.

However, Solskjaer only has the United job until the end of the season and many in the media believe that he will not get the permanent job, as the Red Devils would prefer the likes of Zinedine Zidane, Mauricio Pochettino or even Arsene Wenger to take the club forward.

But Giggs is a huge admirer of Solskjaer and believes United should adopt a similar tactic to rivals Manchester City in their preparations for a future under Solskjaer.

“I wouldn’t be in any rush because you don’t want to derail the current situation,” he said on the Sky Sports website.

“Planning is more important than the announcement. Look at Guardiola. He got in Man City players he wanted the year before he took over.

“So, if it is Ole, keep it amongst the club and start planning. Our problem the past few years is that we were always playing catch-up.

“We should identify the two or three players we need if we’re going to win the Premier League and Champions League.”

Should Solskjaer get the job? Here is what we think.

Solskjaer has brought excitement, energy and that fear factor back to the United side that has gone missing over the past few seasons, but if he is not able to get the club into a Champions League spot or add some silverware, then United will surely not hand him the permanent position.

He has done a great job so far but there is a lot more games between now and the end of the season.
