Conte helps Havertz deal, Agent working on Reguilon deal, Blues express interest in Tagliafico, Lamps to offload Rudiger to sign Gimenez, Werner message sent, Blues should sign Oblak, Koulibaly the leader Chelsea need in Chelsea news roundup…
Reports have claimed that Chelsea have expressed an interest in trying to sign Nicolas Tagliafico this summer.
Chelsea have been in the headlines for the past few months as reports have claimed that boss Frank Lampard is desperate to spend some serious money and acquire a new left-back.
And that has led to some reports in the media suggesting that they are interested in trying to sign Tagliafico from Ajax, with reports claiming that they see him as a cheaper alternative to top transfer target Ben Chilwell.
Chelsea have so far failed to reach a deal with Leicester for Chilwell and the two clubs are poles apart on a valuation, although the Foxes are believed to have softened their original demands for an £80m transfer fee.
Now, According to Sky Sports, Chelsea have expressed interest in signing left-back Nicolas Tagliafico from Ajax.
The report goes on to suggest that Tagliafico has an agreement to leave Ajax in the summer transfer window and is actually interested in making that transfer move to the Premier League during the summer transfer window.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard should address his goalkeeping issue by launching a raid on Atletico Madrid for Jan Oblak.
There has been alot of transfer speculation in the media suggesting that Frank Lampard is keen to sign a new stopper in the summer transfer window as he has not been impressed by the performances of Kepa, who has struggled between the sticks.
And that has led to some speculation in the media suggesting that Chelsea are ready to make a move and try to bring in Oblak to Stamford Bridge in a move that could cost the club a massive £100 million.
Oblak, who saw his four-season stranglehold on the Zamora Trophy – awarded to the best goalkeeper in La Liga – ended by Thibaut Courtois, has proven himself as one of the best in the world over six years at Atleti.
And although Chelsea would need to break the world record fee to sign the stopper, he could bring that elite quality to the Chelsea side that the Blues need right now between the sticks.
He is a winner, a leader and a man that can add thirty-forty points to Lampards side, and that would help them close the gap on Liverpool and Manchester City, who are favourites to win the title next season.
If you get the opportunity to bring in Jan Oblak then we think if you want to compete with Liverpool and Manchester City, Chelsea need a goalkeeper of the same standard and certainly Jan Oblak would produce that.”
Reports have claimed Chelsea may look to offload Antonio Rudiger and replace him with Jose Gimenez.
Chelsea may be getting many in the Premier League excited for the start of next season, especially with the transfer deals that they have already done, but they need to delve into that kitty and land a new central defender.
They have already conceded more goals at the back than any side in the top 10 of the Premier League, and will not be able to challenge for that title if frank Lampard does not get the defensive players that will improve the side.
And that has led to speculation in the media which have claimed that Chelsea are lining up a possible transfer move for the very impressive Gimenez, who is very highly-rated over in La Liga and is also being chased by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
And Rudiger is possibly going to be sold this summer as Frank Lampard has ambitious transfer plans with Mundo Deportivo in Spain are reporting this interest with the Blues hoping to replace Rudiger with Gimenez
Rudiger has been a big part of the Chelsea back-line this season, but he has looked very shaky at times in that Chelsea shirt and Lampard knows that he may be able to get some good money for the German.
Chelsea should sign Manchester United target Kalidou Koulibaly, according to former United midfielder Owen Hargreaves
Napoli defender Koulibaly has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and is set to leave the Serie A club in the next transfer window, as the Italian giants are ready to cash in on the big man.
Andreas Christensen has forged a strong partnership at the back with Antonio Rudiger, and they have been impressive at times this season, but there is still a feeling that Chelsea are ready to pay some big money in the transfer window to improve that back-line.
And that has led to reports in the media that a move for Koulibaly could be on the agenda for the Chelsea board, although Napoli stuck a massive £105 million asking price on the mans head, which seemingly ended their interest.
However, with reports suggesting that Napoli will now accept a fee of around £81 million for Koulibaly, there are now reports emerging again that Chelsea are once again interested in signing the powerhouse.
And Hargreaves believes Koulibaly is exactly the type of player Frank Lampard needs to sign to address his defensive issues.
Chelsea conceded more goals in the Premier League this season than any other team in the top half of the table.
“I think you need a leader and I think Koulibaly’s that type,” Hargreaves said on BT Sport.
“He’s 28, 29, I think you need somebody in there to come in and command it.
“I think he’s got so many great young players but I think the spine of the team he’s got to address.”
Sergio Reguilon’s agent is working on securing a summer move to Chelsea – but there is now more interest in the full-back.
It is no secret that Frank Lampard is keen to splash the cash a little more to improve key areas of the pitch and adding a new left-back to the side is high up on his list of things to do this summer.
Chelsea have been linked with a move for Ben Chilwell, but with Leicester keen to keep hold of the Englishman and sticking a massive £80 million asking price on his head, Chelsea are looking at cheaper alternatives to the Englishman.
And earlier reports have claimed that Chelsea have held advanced talks with Real Madrid for the services of Reguilon, who has been impressing in La Liga with Spanish giants Sevilla over the past 12 months.
Now Transfer expert Nicolo Schira tweeted the update, saying: “Kia Joorabchian is working to move Sergio Reguilon.
“Chelsea are really interested in him, but in the last days also Atletico Madrid, Napoli and Arsenal have asked info.”
Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte could have inadvertently helped Chelsea sign Kai Havertz this summer window.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move to bring Kai Havertz to the Premier League for months now, but a deal has not been announced or confirmed just yet, despite the many reports that it has.
It is believed that an agreement with the player is in place, but the Chelsea hierarchy are trying to negotiate that £90 million fee down a bit, with suggestions that the Blues are only willing to pay close to £70 million.
But no agreement was ever going to take place until Leverkusen were knocked out the Europa League, or won the thing, but now Havertz scored on what could be his final appearance for Bayer Leverkusen.
The German struck during Leverkusen’s Europa League quarter-final against Inter Milan, but his powerful strike beyond Samir Handanovic wasn’t enough for the Bundesliga side as they suffered a 2-1 defeat in Dusseldorf, with Nicolo Barella and Romelu Lukaku scoring for Antonio Conte’s side.
It’s a result that could be celebrated by Chelsea fans, as now the path will be clear for the Blues to sign the 21-year-old ‘as soon as Bayer Leverkusen are knocked out of the Europa League’.
Until the deal is officially done, Chelsea fans will continue to be frustrated about the arrival time of Havertz, and although this is not really a big update, it is something that only suggests that he is heading to Chelsea.
Patience is key here, but it would be a massive shock to not see him leave the German side and make that switch to Stamford Bridge.
Lets just hope that a move to the Premier League will not come too soon and he will not develop like he has been in the Bundesliga.
