Boateng up for sale, Midfielder signs up with Chelsea, Blues hoping £60m will get defender signed, Reguilon responds amid advanced talks, Havertz better than Ballack, Werner message sent

Boateng up for sale, Reiten signs up, Gimenez for £60 million, Havertz better than Ballack, Werner message sent, Reguilon responds to rumours in Chelsea news roundup…

Chelsea target Jerome Boateng looks set to leave Bayern Munich this summer – with the Bundesliga champions “eager” to offload him.

With Chelsea boss Frank Lampard seeking to improve a number of key areas of the pitch this summer transfer window, there has been alot of speculation in the media that he wants to spend some serious money to acquire the services of Boateng.

Boateng has pretty much won every trophy going during his time at Bayern, but there is a feeling that the German club will allow him to leave over the next few months and use the money from his sale to sign their own transfer targets.

The Bavarians almost flogged the German ace in January, when the Blues were said to be keen on a deal, but he stayed put to provide back-up in defence, as Chelsea bosses were reportedly reluctant to seal a deal for the German defender in January due to concerns over his fitness and £196,000-a-week wages.

But with his contract expiring next summer Chelsea could still get a discounted transfer fee this time around, and According to Sport Bild, Bayern want to sell the defender this summer to avoid losing him for free at the end of next term.

He has still featured heavily for the Bundesliga champs this term, making 31 appearances at centre-back alongside David Alaba, so he has no intention of leaving the club unless he is forced out.

Real Madrid defender Sergio Reguilon has remained coy about his future amid strong Chelsea links.

It is no secret that Frank Lampard is keen to splash the cash a little more to improve key areas of the pitch and adding a new left-back to the side is high up on his list of things to do this summer.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Ben Chilwell, but with Leicester keen to keep hold of the Englishman and sticking a massive £80 million asking price on his head, Chelsea are looking at cheaper alternatives to the Englishman.

And earlier reports have claimed that Chelsea have held advanced talks with Real Madrid for the services of Reguilon, who has been impressing in La Liga with Spanish giants Sevilla over the past 12 months.

The Real Madrid left-back, who’s spent the season on loan at Sevilla, told Marca: “I do not think about these possibilities now — I’m sorry if that sounds like a cliche. I’ve been saying since quarantine that until the season is over I won’t be talking about my future.

“Until then it would be unfair on myself, my teammates and club.

“If my year at Sevilla had not been good, then this would not be happening. These teams would not ring.

“If I am fine, the team is fine and the club is fine, everyone is happy… I have no complaints about anything, about the city, the club, my colleagues. I feel very loved. Who knows what will happen in the future?

“We should talk about that sitting quietly with Real Madrid, my representative, with everyone. And see the possibilities for next year, let’s see what happens. I don’t know.”

Chelsea hope around £60million could secure their top defensive target – Atletico Madrid’s Jose Gimenez this transfer window.

Chelsea may be getting many in the Premier League excited for the start of next season, especially with the transfer deals that they have already done, but they need to delve into that kitty and land a new central defender.

They have already conceded more goals at the back than any side in the top 10 of the Premier League, and will not be able to challenge for that title if frank Lampard does not get the defensive players that will improve the side.

And that has led to speculation in the media which have claimed that Chelsea are lining up a possible transfer move for the very impressive Gimenez, who is very highly-rated over in La Liga and is also being chased by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

But if Chelsea want to bolster their defensive ranks with Uruguay international Gimenez they have been told they will have to pay £109.1m, which will break the transfer record for a defender in the game.

However, reports on the SUN website have claimed that Chelsea are now hoping that £60 million will be enough to convince Madrid into letting the impressive defender leave this summer.

Chelsea know that the coronavirus has hit clubs hard and £60 million, right now, goes along way.

Ilkay Gundogan has got Chelsea fans very excited by admitting that Kai Havertz is better than icon Michael Ballack.

Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move to bring Kai Havertz to the Premier League for months now, but a deal has not been announced or confirmed just yet, despite the many reports that it has.

It is believed that an agreement with the player is in place, but the Chelsea hierarchy are trying to negotiate that £90 million fee down a bit, with suggestions that the Blues are only willing to pay close to £70 million.

Gundogan has witnessed Havertz’s talents in close quarters, and thinks he is already a better all-round player than former Blues midfielder Michael Ballack, The City star said of the Leverkusen ace: “In my opinion, Havertz is even better than Ballack in terms of his playing ability. Ballack had a certain level of aggression in his game, and a strong mentality.

“He was a top player of the previous generation – a bastard on the pitch, in a positive sense. Kai isn’t like that.”

Ilkay Gundogan has admitted to being wary of Chelsea’s threat next season, insisting “everyone at Manchester City knows about Timo Werner”.

After months of transfer speculation regarding the young man, who was heavily tipped to sign with Premier League Champions Liverpool, it was Chelsea that activated that clause and got a deal done.

Frank Lampard knew that he needed to add some more goals to this Chelsea attack and after seeing Werner net an impressive 34 goals in just 45 games last season, the Blues made sure to get the deal done quickly.

Chelsea fans will hope that Werner can have a similar impact at Stamford Bridge in 2020-21, as Frank Lampard’s side look to close the gap on Liverpool and City at the top of the Premier League.

Gundogan plays alongside the German forward at international level, and he is expecting him to make a big impact in English football next season: “Believe me: Everyone at City knows about Timo Werner. Many of my team-mates asked what kind of guy he is. He deserves respect,” the City midfielder told SportBild.

Werner is already hard at work over at Chelsea trying to make sure that he is all fully prepared for the Premier League, especially as the media will be on his back from day one.

He has proved it in the Bundesliga, he has proved it in the Champions League and he has even proved it at International level, the German striker is a goal-machine that could solve the answer to Chelsea problems.

Yes he may need a little patience, but once he gets going, Chelsea fans will soon fall in love with the man that us tipped to become one of the best strikers in the game and a Premier League superstar.

Lets just hope he keeps his head away from the clouds.
