Football.london Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold has spoken about the future of Chelsea Fc star Conor Gallagher.

Gallagher had been in the transfer headlines alot this summer as it was believed that CHELSEA FC would have allowed him to depart the club if the right offer was made.

That has led to constant speculation in the media that West Ham are very keen to try and get a deal done for the midfielder – and even made an offer of £40 million, which was rejected by the Blues as they were seeking closer to £50 million for Gallagher.

He has featured in the opening months of the season for Mauricio Pochettino, but there is still a feeling that Chelsea would be open to the idea of letting him leave should the right offer arrive in the coming weeks.

Gold has said: “Conor Gallagher situation, that’s been rumbling on for so long. Spurs are going to keep an eye out, see if there’s any late opportunity to sign him in the window.

“Right now, it’s looking unlikely. Let’s be honest, 23-year-old – he’s captaining Chelsea in every game at the moment, he’s playing almost every minute in every game for Chelsea right now.

“He wants to stay, Pochettino wants him to stay at Chelsea and sees him as a key part of the future at Chelsea.

“But yet, there’s still this suggestion that because of the Financial Fair Play stuff, CHELSEA FC would accept the right price for him.

“I would stress, that the right price sounds like it’s very high. It doesn’t sound like the kind of value deal that Spurs would probably normally go for, especially as the fact he’s only got 18 months left in his contract.

“There has been talk about that he’s maybe had some discussions over a contract of some kind. But yeah, I think something would have to significantly change in the next couple of days for Conor Gallagher to end up coming anywhere near Tottenham Hotspur.”
