Serie A star Gomis tells Arsenal boss Emery ‘dream’ to make move to Emirates

Highly-rated SPAL star Alfred Gomis has announced that it would be a dream for him to make a move and sign for Premier League giants Arsenal.

The talented goalkeeper has been a standout performer in Serie A this term and has been earning a lot of praise for some of his standout performances after helping the minnows into 14th place in the League, and there has been a little transfer speculation that he could leave in the coming transfer windows for a bigger move.

A number of Italian clubs are keeping a close eye on his development and will continue to cast an eye over the remainder of the season, but despite interest from Serie A, Gomis admitted he dreams of strutting his stuff at the Emirates.

He told Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport: “My future? My wish would be Arsenal. I’ve loved the English team since I was a kid.”

However, it is very unlikely that he will get a move to the Emirates any time soon after the Gunners spent big in the summer window to acquire the services of Bernd Leno, as competition for the ageing Petr Cech, so it is not an area that Emery wants to improve right now.

Here is what we think on Gomis eyeing up a move to Arsenal.

Arsenal is one of the biggest clubs in world football and one of the best in the Premier League, so it is understandable to see talents want to make a move to the Emirates, especially since they have a reputation of giving talents a real shot in the game.

But for now a move will not happen and unless he develops into a top-class goalkeeper, it will never happen, Arsenal have two quality goalkeepers and a talented youngster waiting in the wings so money will not be spent on a new stopper.

So if Unai Emery is looking to do some transfer business in the next couple of windows, he will look to add a new defender and winger to the squad.
