Chelsea line-up Gosens, £70 million talks in progress, Chelsea told to get this player, Giroud announces two new Chelsea arrivals very good signing, Lampard on transfer window

Chelsea line-up Gosens, Havertz talks in progress, Kante stay claim, Lampard on new signings, Giroud on Ziyech Werner arrivals in Chelsea roundup..

Olivier Giroud says Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech are ‘very good signings’ and will motivate the Chelsea squad to raise their levels.

The season is not yet over and Chelsea are still challenging for both the Champions League spot and FA Cup trophy, but fans are already getting excited ahead of next season with the signings of Ziyech and Werner.

Alot has been said about the world class duo over the past few months after they agreed to make the move to the Premier League, with Ziyech regarded as one of the finest wingers in the game, while Werner is a goal-machine that could bring 30-plus goals a season to the side.

Frank Lampard is likely to have selection headaches next term with an array of attacking talent at his disposal, but French World Cup winner Giroud feels the extra competition can only be a positive thing.

‘I think it’s always nice to reinforce the team with very good signings,’ Giroud told Sky Sports.

‘It has to be positive for every single player in the squad to step up and to give the best from ourselves to have fair competition.

‘It’s good for the team, I take it very positively as extra motivation.’

Frank Lampard insists any further attacking signings the club make this summer could hinge on the outcome of Chelsea’s final few games of the season, with reports the club are in talks for Kai Havertz.

The season has not yet finished and there is a few more games for the Blues, but that has not stopped all the speculation in the media suggesting that a new defender and midfielder could arrive at the club in the summer.

This Chelsea side are very exciting, but they are not quite ready to challenge for that Premier League title and will need to improve in key areas of the pitch, with Havertz the next big names seemingly coming to the club.

Recent reports in the media have claimed that Chelsea have already started talks with the little German about a £70 million move to Stamford Bridge.

However, Lampard was in no mood to discuss his interest in Havertz ahead of Wednesday’s trip to Liverpool but did not rule out the prospect of making further additions to his squad.

Asked specifically about Havertz, he said on Sky Sports: ‘I’m not talking about Kai Havertz he’s a player of another team I am looking at a game tomorrow that is so huge for this team. The last thing I want to do is talk about a player from another team.’

On the prospect of further bolstering an already fearsome looking forward line, he added: ‘We will cross that in the summer. The idea of the two players we’ve brought in, of course they are attacking talents and you bring in players like that to improve.

‘We know there might be players moving on naturally, players ending contracts and we know it’s something that I feel we’ve spoken about in certain games where we’ve had a lot of possession of the ball and chances created to a high level and we maybe haven’t quite done that.

‘I think those two players (Ziyech and Werner) are hopefully going to add to us in that case and then after that what comes in the summer come after the next few huge games for us.’

Chelsea are in talks with Kai Havertz after every other club pulled out of the race for the German, reports Sky Sports.

There has been so much speculation in the media over the past 24 hours regrading the possible Chelsea deal for Havertz, with all indications suggesting that he is the number one transfer target for the club.

There have been rumours that a deal is a agreed with Leverkusen, that he has agreed personal terms with the Chelsea, that Chelsea are just waiting until the end of the season to announce the deal, all very frustrating for the Chelsea fans.

Now, the latest rumours regarding a possible deal are by the Sky Sports website, which have claimed Chelsea are in talks with Havertz after every other club pulled out of the race for the German

It is claimed that most clubs do not want to pay that massive £90 million asking price for Havertz, a fee that is very high for the financial times right now, but Chelsea are very keen to swoop in and get this deal done.

The reports claim Chelsea technical adviser Petr Cech will fly to Germany following the conclusion of the Premier League season on Sunday to hold face-to-face talks, with Chelsea are looking to agree an initial fee around £70m, with performance related add-ons also to be included

Dennis Wise has opened up and revealed the best midfield options to Frank Lampard, and urged Chelsea to keep hold of Ngolo Kante.

Frank Lampard has an array of talent at his disposal at Chelsea and with that only set to improve in the summer window, he should have a number of midfielders to choose from as he seeks to win that Premier League.

But there has been much debate about the best midfield that Lampard could play with the players at the club right now, as the likes of Mason Mount, Jorginho, Kante, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ross Barkley and Mateo Kovacic all fighting for those spots.

And former star Wise has opened up and revealed the best midfield options to Frank Lampard, and has also told the Chelsea boss to keep hold of Kante when the transfer window opens up, with the little Frenchman linked with a move away from the club

But Asked to name Lampard’s first-choice midfield three, Wise said on the Daily Express: “I would say the main person is Kante, for sure, and then you can have a mixture of Kovacic, Barkley or Mount.

“I think it would be out of those four to make up the three which sit in there [in a 4-3-3 formation].

“Mason Mount has done extremely well, and Barkley has gone through a spell of really doing well. It’s difficult to give you the three, but one of them for sure is Kante. I think he is so important to the team to sit in there.

“You’ve also got Loftus-Cheek and young Gilmour so they’re quality players.

“Loftus-Cheek has obviously been out for a while and it would be unfair to all of a sudden try and push him into that category (alongside the main four players). And the young boy Billy Gilmour, just because he’s so young and developing, I think you’ve got to give him time

“I think definitely Kante and then two out of the three that I mentioned – Kovacic, Barkley and Mount. It’s a great problem to have.

“Mount has done extremely well in spells, and so has Barkley and so has Kovacic – it’s very difficult to break them up.”

Chelsea ‘management’ team planning to make an approach in the upcoming transfer window for Atalanta defender Robert Gosens.

Now the transfer window is just a few weeks away and there has still be alot of transfer speculation in the media suggesting that Chelsea are lining up a number of possible targets.

Frank Lampard does not need to spend alot of money to improve his current side, but he does need to add a couple of defenders to the side in order to turn this Chelsea side from top four contenders to Premier League challengers.

The Blues are focused on buying a new left-back as the future of current options Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri appears to be uncertain, as both Emerson and Alonso have been unable to stand out in Frank Lampard’s squad this season and so the west Londoners’ boss had to make due with captain Cesar Azpilicueta in that position.

According to the DAILY MIRROR, Gosens is among Chelsea transfer chief Marina Granovskaia’s targets but they will have to overcome a host of heavy bidders such as Inter, Juventus, Leicester and Leipzig.

Gosens has been impressing over in the Italian Leagues and despite their keen interest in keeping hold of the left-back, reports suggest that Atalanta will accept a fee of around the £50 million mark in the summer.

Now look, there are many left-backs out there that could come in and do a good job at Chelsea, but why do the Blues need to look at other Leagues for defenders when the Premier League is packed full of top-class players.

If they need a new left-back, then Ben Chilwell is the answer, recent reports have suggested that Chelsea have made contact with the man already, but with his price tag so high, a move for Gosens is much more likely

Gosens is a very solid left-back that will improve the position here at Chelsea, but fans may feel somewhat disappointed if Chilwell does not get signed up, as he seems to be the clubs number one target.
