Barcelona send Coutinho message, Blues offered £120 million star, Haaland has Sancho message and Chelsea offered world cup winner
Barcelona send Coutinho message, Chelsea offered Griezmann, Haaland has Sancho message, Blues offered Umtiti in Chelsea news roundup…
Reports have claimed Barcelona have offered Antoine Griezmann to the likes of Chelsea this coming summer window
Griezmann was one of the most om-demand players of the transfer window last summer, with a whole host of clubs linked with a possible move for the Frenchman, but in the end, it was Barcelona who completed a massive £108 million move to complete the deal.
The Frenchman has been hit and miss for the Spaniards this season as he copes with life at the Camp Nou, but now Spanish outlet AS suggest the club are looking to save money as they come under strain during these unprecedented times.
And the reports suggest Big money signing Griezmann could be put up for sale to raise capital after failing to impress Barcelona bosses since arriving from the Spanish capital in July, and managing resources is key for the club and they may look to ship former Real Sociedad star Griezmann out on loan to get him off the wage bill.
Now reports on the DAILY STAR have claimed that Barcelona will consider offers for most of their players this summer, with exception of Lionel Messi.
He has only managed to score 14 goals and provide four assists in 37 appearances in all competitions since sealing his move from Atletico Madrid, and with Barcelona ready to freshen up the side, they will do business if the price is right.
If he did leave the club, the likes of Chelsea would be hoping he could rediscover the form that saw him score 133 goals in 257 appearances while at Ateltcio if he were to make a fresh start in the Premier League.
The transfer window is just a few months away now and although the Premier League season has not been concluded, there is a feeling that the transfer window will actually see alot of transfer deals take place.
Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland has heaped praise on teammate and Chelsea transfer target Jadon Sancho.
Chelsea may be concentrating on getting back in training and trying to get back inside the top four for Champions League football next season, but there has already been alot of speculation in the media about players that Frank Lampard will try and sign in the summer to improve his squad.
And one of the players that is reportedly on the shopping list of the boss is that of Jadon Sancho, who has become one of the most talked about players in the game and has been constantly linked with a move to the Premier League, with all the big guns linked with a swoop.
However, with the Coronavirus outbreak taking all the headlines, big transfer fees will become a thing of the past due to the coronavirus pandemic and no big club will be willing to pay £100 million for Jadon Sancho in the summer.
However, away from the speculation, there are many at the club that believe that he will stay in the summer, and Haaland is one of those players.
Haaland has been a sensation since joining the Bundesliga side from Salzburg and is delighted to be playing alongside a ‘fantastic player’ in Sancho, who has 14 goals and 16 assists from 23 appearances so far this season in the German top-flight.
Haaland told ESPN: “He’s a fantastic player, and the stats don’t lie what he’s been doing for us this season, so he’s a fantastic player and he will become even better.
“We are lucky to have him here.”
Barcelona vice-president Jordi Cardoner has claimed that the club will only be partaking in swap deals in the upcoming transfer window, increasing speculation over Chelsea target Philippe Coutinho.
Coutinho, who has struggled to reach the kind of form which made him one of the best players in the game during his time with Liverpool, meaning that he will be on the transfer market during the summer window
Chelsea reportedly lead the chase, especially as there is talk that Brazilian Willian could be leaving the club after failing to agree a new contract with the Chelsea, and reports have suggested that the Chelsea boss sees the Brazilian as the ideal man to replace Willian.
There has been some claims in the media that Barcelona are willing to accept a fee of around £70 million for the player that cost well over £100 million just a few seasons ago, simply because he has not made the impact on the side that many had hoped.
Now, amid all the speculation regarding a number of his players, 57-year-old Cordoner has lifted the lid on how the club have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic with players’ wages set to be slashed again despite the squad already accepting a 70 per cent cut.
In an interview with ESPN, Cardoner has revealed how the Blaugrana have already lost around £124million due to being in lockdown as a result of the Covid-19 crisis.
After stating Barca would definitely make a loss this campaign, he said: “Because our base economic situation is a solid one, this will not affect us the same way as probably other clubs.”
Fresh reports have again claimed that Barcelona are ready to listen to offers for Chelsea transfer target Samuel Umtiti.
With Frank Lampard looking to spend some serious money during the summer transfer window, there was some speculation in the media that the Chelsea boss is seeking to add some world class defenders to his squad, with Umtiti high up on the shopping list.
Chelsea may be in the top dour spots, but they have already shipped too many goals this season and are in need of adding an experienced defender to that back-line in order to shore the the defence for next season.
A knee injury, which required surgery, saw the Frenchman lose his starting place to countryman Clement Lenglet last season, and reports suggested Barcelona are willing to allow him to depart the club for the right amount of money.
And recent reports have revealed Umtiti is available as part of a fire sale as they look to recoup £118m in transfer fees when the window opens, with indications that the Frenchman is also open to the idea of a fresh challenge away from the Camp Nou.
Now the DAILY STAR has claimed that Umtiti has been offered to the likes of Chelsea ahead of the summer window, as Barcelona seek to balance the books.
In an interview with ESPN, Cardoner has revealed how the Blaugrana have already lost around £124million due to being in lockdown as a result of the Covid-19 crisis, and may have to sell in the summer.
Look, Chelsea are a team that need to be improved in certain areas of the pitch, that is a fact, but trying to sign a man that has been plagued by injuries over the past few seasons may not have been the way to go.
Yes he is still young enough to develop and yes he has won a number of trophies, but he is not the same player he was a few seasons ago and could struggles to adapt to the pace and quality of the Premier league.
So maybe him staying put in the summer window may be a good thing, as he may not improve this Chelsea back-line.
