Former Arsenal ace wants to see £40 million United get SIGNED by Mikel Arteta this summer

Former Arsenal winger Perry Groves wants to see Mikel Arteta sign three new first-team players this summer, starting with Ivan Toney.

The transfer window is still open until the end of August and it will give Arsenal more chances to start getting some deals done that will send a statement to the rest of the Premier League for new Mikel Arteta

And the Gunners have constantly been linked with a move for the big man – but his asking price has become a problem for all the chasing clubs and that is why he has not yet left Brentford.

However – Groves has now opened up and claimed that Mikel Arteta should make three more signings this transfer window, and Ivan Toney should be one of the names that makes the move to ARSENAL.

He told talkSPORT: “Arteta was saying that when you’re chasing the title, you’ve got to keep getting better and better.

“So I always think that you should have three new signings, at least, a season, but those three players have got to be first team players, not squad players.

“I’d go for Ivan Toney. He is obviously very confident, a brilliant character. Maybe Arteta thinks that because of the high intensity closing down that ARSENAL like to play, that Ivan Toney might not do that. But I think he could.

“I think he’s mobile enough. He can drop deep, he can link up. He can drop in, like Harry Kane, when he’s at his best.

“And if you’re averaging a goal in every two and a half games for Brentford, you imagine the chances you get created when you play for Arsenal.”
