World’d best! Man City boss Guardiola opens up and has shock Liverpool claim

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has claimed Liverpool may be the best team in the world right now.

City headed into the new Premier League season the clear favourites to regain their title, especially after their stunning start to the campaign, in which they were blowing teams away.

But a couple of losses over the Christmas period has now opened up a seven point gap to Liverpool, as the Reds look like a side that is ready to end their long wait for a title.

Guardiola welcomes Liverpool to the Eithad on Thursday in a crucial game, and the encounter is being billed as a must-win game for City, as Liverpool would then be ten points ahead of their closes rivals.

And Guardiola has warned his players that they are about to take on the world’s in-form side on Thursday, telling the BBC: ‘The problem is the other team is fantastiC.

‘[Liverpool are] maybe the best team in Europe or the world right now and in top form.’

‘You have to accept it. All we can do is do our job, play our games and after that we will see.’

Can City stop Liverpool’s great form?

City have arguably the best squad in the premier League and can blow away most sides in Europe, but Jurgen Klopp has proven over the last few seasons that he has the tactics and players to take all three points.

Right now Liverpool are playing unbelievable football and are virtually unstoppable. They will be heading to City full on confidence knowing that Guardiola and the players will be fearful.

If Klopp picks up the three points over City, and many believe they will, then it will be very difficult to see past Liverpool picking up the title this season.
