Chelsea sent message about signing of impressive £65 million target this summer

Wayne Bridge has claimed that Chelsea do not need to add Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi to that defence this summer

Guehi has impressed for England at Euro 2024 and could be on the move in the coming weeks as a result of his performances as all the big clubs have been linked with a stunning £65 million move.

Chelsea have been very active in the transfer market already this summer and have been linked with a move for Marc Guehi in recent weeks – especially as they are still seeking to improve that back-line before the start of the new season next month.

Of the view the Blues should not enter the running, however, ex-CHELSEA full-back Wayne Bridge has said via Chelsea News: ‘His performances have naturally lead to transfer rumours to some of the club’s main rivals now, or even a return to his boyhood club.

“He’s a great player, but I’m not sure. Chelsea already have a number of centre-backs and I think if they’re going to buy another it needs to be guaranteed they’re the main one. I don’t know if Guehi is going to be that one,” Bridge said.

“You don’t need any more centre-backs as squad players, you need that one player that’s going to be their rock at the back like Thiago Silva was for them.

Guehi has been brilliant for Palace over the past few months and at the Euros he us showing all the big clubs that he is very happy playing against the best players at the highest level of the game.

It is a shock to see that Bridge believes CHELSEA shouldnt sign Guehi – we believe that he would be a brilliant signing for the club.
