Chelsea news: £100M valued Brazilian to make Blues transfer decision and sign big deal

Gabby Agbonlahor has backed Bruno Guimaraes to pledge his long-term future to Newcastle despite reported interest from Chelsea.

Guimaraes joined Newcastle in a £40m deal from Lyon in January 2022 and didn’t take long to make an impact at the heart of Eddie Howe’s midfield.

He is now considered to be one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and a man that is valued at around the £100 million mark, with some of the games biggest clubs interested in a potential deal.

Newcastle have no intention of selling their star man in the coming windows, but that has not stopped speculation in the media that CHELSEA, Liverpool and Real Madrid are all eyeing up a sneaky move in the January window or at the end of the season.

But amid all the speculation and all the rumours, Agbonlahor has opened up and claimed that he believes Guimaraes will pledge his long-term future with Newcastle.

Agbonlahor told Football Insider: “I think he’ll be happy to stay at Newcastle.

“He’s part of the rebuild there, with the fantastic season last year. I like him a lot.

“He’s a very talented player.

“Newcastle are going places. I’m sure he’ll enjoy playing in the Champions League with them this season.

“I’m sure that contract will be agreed and he will see his long-term future at Newcastle.”

Right now, Newcastle can offer Guimaraes the football that he wants, Champions League football and the dream to help the club do something special in the game. But if they cannot carry on heading upwards, he may consider his future.

Newcastle will give him a massive contract in the coming months that will fend off interest, for now, but we can still see clubs like CHELSEA making crazy offers that will tempt the Brazilian into moving.
