New Chelsea signing makes big transfer admission after sealing move to Stamford Bridge
New Chelsea signing Malo Gusto admits there was a ‘little apprehension’ over his move to Stamford Bridge
After months and months of speculation and rumours – Chelsea ended up splashing some serious cash on signing Gusto during the January window – but decided to let him stay with the French side until the end of the season
The defender has spent seven years at Lyon and admits he was a ‘little apprehensive’ over his move to Chelsea despite being excited by the project in west London.
‘The transfer to Chelsea was a bit last minute, although I had been talking to them for some time,’ Gusto told FootMercato.
‘It was a good proposal, with a good project behind it, that’s what influenced me on this choice. I know we are not where we should be right now.
‘There is always a little apprehension. Chelsea is a very big club, I’m changing countries. But when I sign, I know what to expect, and I sign to play and win.’
