Manchester United have been told Haaland is more important than Sancho as transfer boost given
Erling Haaland is ‘more important’ for Borussia Dortmund’s than Manchester United target Jadon Sancho, the Red Devils have been told.
Manchester United have been heavily linked with a transfer move to try and bring the talented Sancho to the Premier League, although his massive £109 million asking price has so far been a problem.
It is claimed United were hoping to land him for closer to £60m, but sporting director Michael Zorc has told United to ‘stick to the facts’, saying he is hopeful Sancho will remain at the club for another season.
But they have been handed a shock transfer boost as a top journalist in Germany has claimed that perhaps an indication that BVB could be willing to cash in on the Englishman this summer, as Haaland is more important to the immediate plans of the side that Sancho.
Writing in his column, Bild’s Deputy Editor in Chief Henning Feindt has said keeping Sancho is not of paramount importance to BVB
“I think that Haaland is even more important than Jadon Sancho for BVB’s championship chances,” he writes.
“The Englishman would rather leave the club today than tomorrow, and although he was last top scorer (17 goals, 17 assists), he would be easier to replace.
“With Brandt, Reus, Hazard and Reyna, Dortmund has four players who could fill the Sancho gap – especially since the transfer of at least €100million would add another reinforcement.
“Haaland, on the other hand, like Lewandowski, could not be exchanged simply because there are fewer players of this quality in his position.
“In addition, he embodies everything BVB fans love: down-to-earthness, passion and hard work without end.”
It will be interesting to see if Man United get their man
