Chelsea in talks with Madrid over defender, Powerhouse to be signed up by Chelsea, Rice transfer message sent, Lamps tells board he wants £100m man at Chelsea
Zouma to get new deal, Lamps wants Haaland, Rice message sent, Olise message sent and Chelsea in Alonso talks in Chelsea roundup…
Former Premier League striker Kevin Phillips thinks January Chelsea target Michael Olise should stay at Reading for the rest of the season.
Chelsea spent some serious money in the summer transfer window on players like Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Edouard Mendy, who have all been a big part of Frank Lampards starting line-up.
However, it is no secret that Chelsea are still eyeing up some of the best talents in world football and have been keeping a close eye on the performances of Olise, who is making a real name for himself over at Reading.
19-year-old Olise, who has four goals and seven assists this campaign, is also a target for Leeds and Liverpool, but Kevin Phillips has opened up and urged the young man to consider staying put for now, amid interest from the Blues.
He told Football Insider: “He should stay at Reading for the rest of the season. Stay and help get your club promoted”
“Why would you leave? He is playing week in, week out. Is he going to play at Leeds? Probably not.
“He may come off the bench and start the odd game but it would disrupt his development.”
Atletico Madrid are in talks to sign Chelsea full-back Marcos Alonso – according the latest reports.
We are just a few days away from the opening of the January transfer window and there is alot of speculation in the media that the board will hand Lampard some funds in order to sign a few players that will finish off his spending.
However, Chelsea have a massive squad and will need to offload a few players well before we are able to bring some players into the squad, meaning that stars like Alonso are no longer needed at the club.
And according to reports on the Independent, The Blues are now in talks with Madrid to try and get a transfer deal done for the left-back.
The Spanish giants are looking to bring the 30-year-old in on an initial loan deal as Diego Simeone seeks to bolster his defensive ranks for the second half of the season.
And the reports says Chelsea are ready to sanction Alonso’s departure, with Ben Chilwell and Emerson Palmieri currently ahead of the Spaniard in the squad pecking order.
Look, Alonso has been a decent servant for the club over the past few seasons and we have enjoyed watching him play, but at the end of the day, he is done at the club and it is the best thing for him to move on.
Mark Noble says that he hopes Declan Rice will remain with West Ham for the foreseeable future, with Chelsea linked with a move.
It is no secret that Chelsea are keen to try and secure some sort of transfer deal for the young midfielder, as they reportedly see him as an upgrade to the ageing Ngolo Kante.
It is firmly believed that Chelsea will seek to offload a number of players in the coming transfer window in order to help raise some transfer funds, with reports suggesting a big £60 million offer may be made by the hierarchy.
But as rumours continue linking Rice to some of England’s biggest clubs, Noble says he remains hopeful that he may be able to call Rice a team-mate for the foreseeable future, but he does understand how difficult it will be for that to be a reality.
“He’s still learning his trade, he’ll get much better with experience. I’m hoping it’s here [at West Ham] but in this game you never know,” Noble told TalkSPORT.
“I’m sure he’ll be a top, top player and an even better player in years to come.”
Chelsea are set to open contract talks with defender Kurt Zouma in the New Year, according to reports that have now emerged.
Zouma has always been a player that has had alot of potential to become one of the very best defenders in the World, but was never really given the opportunities to prove himself at the Bridge.
But The 26-year-old has helped Chelsea get off to a good start, forming a solid partnership with Thiago Silva as well as scoring four goals in 13 Premier League appearances, and he is now officially a proven player at the Bridge.
Zouma also played a key role in Chelsea’s flawless Champions League group stage clean sweep which saw them qualify for the knockout stages unbeaten, and according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Blues want to reward Zouma for his fine form this season.
Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Romano said: “There are no negotiations right now. The Chelsea board are thinking of offering a new contract to Zouma.
“They will start to talk with Zouma, they expect to talk with Zouma to extend his contract.
“He has two more season left on his contract at Chelsea, but they want to extend the contract. Zouma is a priority.”
Chelsea have reportedly made signing Erling Haaland their ‘top priority’ next summer, according to the latest reports.
Dortmund won the race to sign Haaland from Salzburg last January and he has made a stellar start to his career at Signal Iduna Park, scoring 27 goals in 29 games in all competitions for the club.
However, there has been alot of speculation in the media that Chelsea are one of a number of clubs that believe Haaland would be the dream signing to make, despite the fact that they already have Timo Werner and Tammy Abraham
And Sky Sport Italia now claims that has led to Frank Lampard informing the Blues board that the Norwegian is his No1 target at the end of the season, and that he wants the club to make a big offer to try and get a transfer deal done.
That is despite him spending £123million on bringing Timo Werner and Kai Havertz in to bolster his attack in the summer.
According to German legend Lothar Matthaus, his stay at Dortmund is fated to be a short one.
“Erling Haaland is a win not just for Dortmund but for the entire Bundesliga,” Matthaus explained to the Bundesliga’s official website.
“At the age of 20, he is a machine. He is a flying striker. He brings a positive energy in the team while also scoring goals. He is irreplaceable.
“Erling Haaland is regarded at Dortmund like Robert Lewandowski is at Bayern: the player up front who is not only responsible for the goals but in charge of dragging the team with him. He is a leader at the age of 20.
“That says a lot and on top of that, he knows what he needs to do. He works defensively as well, something I really enjoy seeing Robert Lewandowski do as well. He is not one to just stay forward. His mannerisms as well, for a 20-year-old, to not only think of himself but of his team.
“This positivity that he radiates, radiates on the team which is why I think that someday, Haaland will not be playing at Dortmund anymore and will make the next step. He is already ready and we are proud to have him in the Bundesliga.
“Dortmund need to be pleased to have gotten him because he is a striker that fits to a club with such emotions.”
Strange to think that the young man is already good enough to walk into most squads in world football isnt it?
