£100m winger makes Chelsea transfer decision, Boss ready for battle as Chelsea target ‘can leave for rigth price’, Haaland wanted?, transfer wanring sent
HERE IS A ROUNDUP OF THE LATEST CHELSEA NEWS FROM ICFOOTBALLNEWS.COM.
Roy Hodgson is bracing himself another transfer battle involving Chelsea target Wilfried Zaha when the window opens in January.
Zaha has been in the transfer headlines all summer as a number of top clubs have been linked with a possible move ever since he admitted that he is eyeing up playing at the very top of the game.
But with Chelsea unable to sign any players during the summer window, there was talk that Zaha was keen on a move to the likes of Arsenal and Everton, who both reportedly made moves to get a deal done for the winger.
And ahead of the upcoming window, reports have claimed that Chelsea are lining up a potential move for the winger, either in the January window or at the end of the season when they can actually sign a few players.
Chairman Steve Parish has said he would allow Zaha to leave in January for the right club at the right price and the winger has been in impressive form, and after scoring a belated first goal of the season in last weekend’s defeat by Liverpool, Zaha netted Palace’s opener just before half-time in the 2-0 victory at Turf Moor against Burnley prompted Hodgson to react.
“He’s a good player isn’t he? He’s capable of causing problems to any defence anywhere in the world,” Hodgson said on the Sky Sports website.
“When he’s in good form like he is, when he’s as concentrated as he was today – because his performance wasn’t only good going forward, it was also good defensively. And, of course, the goal that he scored and one or two chances that he helped set up, that’s what we need from him. Good for Wilf, that’s two goals in two games and, if he can keep that up, it will help us enormously to climb the table.
“We’ve never wanted to lose him,” Hodgson added. “But, when you’re Crystal Palace, and I think Burnley would regard themselves in the same situation, when a player does exceptionally well and there’s lots of clubs after them and prepared to pay big money, it’s not always that easy to keep hold of them. We can’t say to Wilf, ‘You’ve got to stay with us because we’ll be Champions League next year’.
“I’m happy that it didn’t materialise, I think he’s done exceptionally well to get over that and accept it and make certain he’s once again doing his level best for this club. Who knows, there might come a time in the future where we’re confronted with that situation again. But, until that day arrives, I’ll carry on working with him, being happy to be working with him and happy that we’ve got a player of his ability to help us win football matches.”
Steve Nicol has fired Chelsea a transfer warning ahead of the January transfer window.
Chelsea have appealed their transfer appeal, they are now just waiting for the courts to come back and give them an answer on whether or not they will be bale to sign any players during the January transfer window.
Frank Lampard has one of the most exciting sides in the Premier League, but there is a feeling that he is still lacking in world class ability in order to get this Chelsea side challenging for more than a top four spot in the coming seasons.
Lampard saw his Chelsea side lose 1-0 to West Ham at the weekend, as Lampard’s side were beaten thanks to an Aaron Cresswell goal just after half-time.
The Blues boss was forced to make multiple changes for the game, most notably with Olivier Giroud coming back into the fold for a rare start as star man Tammy Abraham picked up a injury which kept him out of the game.
And Liverpool icon Nicol claimed on ESPN that the Blues will suffer if they go deep into the Champions League, because Saturday’s result shows they don’t have enough strength in depth.
“I think for Chelsea the problems will start if they go deep into the Champions League,” he said.
“At their best, they’re capable of scoring goals.
“When it gets to the knockout stages, they could win games, which I don’t think they can handle.
“I think we saw today when they’re forced to make changes, they’re not particularly deep.
“Big time [the transfer embargo will impact them].”
Chelsea should make a move for Manchester United target Erling Haaland in January.
United managed to sell powerhouse striker Romelu Lukaku during the summer transfer window after months of speculation, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer failed to delve into his transfer kitty to add an adequate forward to the front-line and lead the attack.
But there has been some rumours in the media over the last few weeks which have suggested that Solskjaer may be given some funds in the coming transfer window to add a striker to his front-line, with Haaland reportedly high up on the shopping list.
Haaland scored the final goal of the game as Red Bull Salzburg beat Genk 4-1 in Belgium on Wednesday night n the Champions League and in the process became the first teenager in the history of the Champions League to score in five straight appearances in the competition.
His finish against Genk takes his season tally to 27 goals in just 19 games, during which he has also managed to notch up five hat-tricks, and United fans are desperate for United to make a move and sign him for that £75 million.
But there is also talk that Chelsea boss Frank Lampard may be able to delve into his transfer kitty and make a few signings for himself, with another striker on the shopping list for the club hero.
They may have the brilliant TAMMY ABRAHAM, who has netted 11 goals in 20 appearances this season, but Olivier Giroud is tipped to leave, while Michy Batshuayi just makes up the numbers, meaning that Lampard will be short up top.
Reports have claimed that Chelsea target Jadon Sancho has made a January transfer decision.
The 19-year-old England international, who left Manchester City to join the Bundesliga outfit in 2017, emerged as a top summer target for Chelsea, but Dortmund refused to sell and Chelsea were unable to make a firm offer as they were suspended from doing any deals.
But recent reports from Germany have handed the likes of Chelsea a massive boost in the chase to try and sign up the young Englishman, as Dortmund have identified Hertha winger Javairo Dilrosun and Valencia’s Ferran Torres as possible replacements for the creative force.
They also claim that Sancho is expected to leave Dortmund and the German club will use the £130m fee Barcelona paid for Ousmane Dembele as a benchmark figure for the England international. And it seems that a decision has been made as the winger and his entourage have made a transfer decision.
