Dortmund Marco Rose sends shock Haaland transfer message to likes of Manchester United
Erling Haaland may stay at Borussia Dortmund beyond next summer despite the release clause in his contract, manager Marco Rose has told the likes of Manchester United
It is no secret that Manchester United have been long-term admirers of the Bundesliga hitman and were linked with a transfer move for Haaland at the beginning of the transfer window.
But adding Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho to the squad has meant most of the transfer budget has been taken, and United are not willing to pay that massive £100 million asking price that has been placed on his head.
But the prolific Norwegian striker continuing to generate plenty of rumours after starting the new season with two goals and a couple of assists in a 5-2 mauling of Eintracht Frankfurt, and there is rumours suggesting that United could make one more big transfer offer.
However, it is unlikely that United make a move to sign the striker this transfer window and were probably waiting until next summer, but they have been dealt a blow in their chase once again
“He still has a long-term contract with us. Just because the public is constantly talking about him leaving BVB next summer, that doesn’t necessarily have to be the case,” Rose told German outlet SportBILD.
“In the end, Erling has to decide for himself where he sees his future. In any case, we are happy that he is currently playing for us – and, who knows, possibly it’ll be even more than just one season if we write an extraordinary story here.”
Haaland is a world class player that has a big asking price, but it would be a shock to still see him at the German club next summer too
