‘Feels great to be here’ full-back announces after OFFICIALLY JOINING Arsenal

Arsenal have announced the signing of talented young full-back Habeeb Ogunneye as the Gunners continue to strengthen their long-term options and invest in emerging talent.

Ogunneye arrives in north London with valuable experience despite his young age, having previously spent time within the Manchester United setup before gaining senior football experience with Newport County.

The defender has also represented England at under-17 level, giving Arsenal another promising player with experience of international youth football.

The move represents an exciting opportunity for Ogunneye, who is understood to be delighted with the switch and “buzzing” to have joined the Gunners.

His arrival underlines ARSENAL‘s continued commitment to developing young players and providing them with a pathway towards senior football.

The club have increasingly focused on identifying talented players at an early stage of their careers, with the academy and recruitment departments working together to build a strong group of prospects for the future

“It feels great to be here, it’s such a big club,” Habeeb said after putting pen to paper on his Arsenal contract.

“I’ve got family who live in Hackney, so it’s literally a full-circle moment. It’s fantastic [to have my family here],” he added.

“When I heard [ARSENAL] were interested in me, I said to my agents it’s a no-brainer. Seeing all the young players that are coming through as well, so I just wanted to come straight away.

“I just wanted to be part of that group, and win games together. It’s good playing with good players, good defenders; it’s only going to better you.”

“It was great, my first season in men’s football, [learning about] the physicality, the recovery side, it was a great experience.

“I remember when I scored, it was like a moment of madness. I didn’t really know what to do. The stadium erupted; that’s the first time it’s properly happened for me, being in a big stadium where the three points mean something.”

“[Now] I want to get better every day and we’ll see what happens from there.”
