Ten Hag has requested the board sign £80M valued striker for Man United

Man United boss Erik Ten Hag has reportedly told the board to try and sign Benfica star Darwin Nunez in the coming summer window

The United board have made the big decision to bring Erik Ten Hag to the club in hope that he can bring the success that he had with Ajax – and get the club back into the habit of winning titles

But it is no secret that Ten Hag will need a big transfer budget in order to improve a number of positions over the next few months and sign players that will help close the gap on Man City and Liverpool

United’s transfer budget this summer will depend on how many fringe players Ten Hag is able to offload, with Dean Henderson, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba all linked with moves.

And according to the Daily Mirror – Darwin Nunez is a player that he would like to be signed by the club – and has even requested the signing of the Benfica star

Nunez is a player that is hot right now as his 34-goals in all competitions for Benfica this season has caught the attentions of all the big clubs, especially as they could get him for a fee of around £80 million

He has proven himself to be one of the most dangerous strikers in the Champions League and a man that can net over 30-goals in one season – is a player that the should look to sign

But will be be a good signing for Man United?

It is very easy to see just why Man United are very keen on Nunez – he is a brilliantly gifted young striker with a bright future in the game

He is very versatile too – he has played on the left – right and down the middle for BENFICA THIS SEASON – and still – he is able to find the back of the net – he would be a great signing
