Leverkusen star announces Havertz ‘being teased’ about proposed £70 million move to Chelsea with personal terms agreed
Nadiem Amiri admits Bayer Leverkusen players have been teasing Kai Havertz about his proposed move to Chelsea.
Chelsea are seeking to land a whole load of players in the transfer window in order to challenge for that Premier League title next season, and there is big speculation that Havertz is on his way to the club.
Recent reports in the media have claimed that Havertz has already agreed personal terms with Chelsea, reported to be £140,000-a-week, and that he is no waiting for the two clubs to agree a fee over the next couple of days.
Now, amid all the speculation Amiri has opened up and admitted that the Leverkusen players are teasing Havertz about his possible move to Chelsea, but are also hoping that he makes the right decision this summer.
Asked about the speculation surrounding Havertz, Leverkusen midfielder Amiri told SPORT1: ‘We don’t want to talk about it at all. ‘In training we are very relaxed, nobody would go there and speak to him and ask: “What are you doing now?” ‘The boy is concerned with that himself.’
‘I hope he makes the right decision,’ Amiri continued.
‘There are always a few jokes and a few things said.
‘But we need Kai! We also have to leave his head alone.’
Look, if Havertz is to sign for Chelsea, the Blues fans will be getting a player that is able to both score goals on a regular basis and create for the rest of the team, so for that £70 million or whatever he will cost, he will be a massive signing.
It would be a shock to not see him at Chelsea next season, but the fans need to be patient as this is a massive deal that needs to benefit both clubs for the foreseeable future.
