‘Wonderful talent’ tipped to lead Arteta attack after £45M Arsenal news
Gary Lineker has said that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could use Kai Havertz to replace Gabriel Jesus While he is out injured.
The £45million Brazilian international is expected to be sidelined for six weeks after going under the surgeon’s knife on Wednesday morning after picking up a shock in injury.
There has been some speculation that ARSENAL could not delve into the transfer kitty to try and add a striker to the squad, but Lineker has opened up and claimed that Havertz could replace Jesus while he is out.
Havertz was used as the main striker at Chelsea for the last couple of seasons after the Blues failed to sign a proper striker – but the German is more of an attacking midfielder.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
Lineker said: “I’m also intrigued to see where Kai Havertz fits in because he is a wonderful talent.
“Despite scoring Chelsea’s winner in the 2021 Champions League final, I don’t think we’ve seen the best of the German yet.
“He looks to me like his best position might be as a No 10 but Arsenal have the excellent Martin Odegaard there already. Havertz may start the season at centre-forward as Gabriel Jesus is injured but he could also operate wide on the left or right or in a deeper role.
“He certainly adds depth and I’d expect Arsenal to add to their squad even further before the deadline.”

Wow – this is what Mikel Arteta did not need, one of the clubs best players out injured again.
Havertz was used as a striker for Chelsea last season and only managed seven goals – this ARSENAL attack is better than that Blues one – but he is not a striker.
There is a feeling that Jesus could spend alot of time out injured this season – so it would make more sense for that Gunners board to splash a bit more cash and add another forward to that front-line.
And actually use Havertz in the position that he wants to play in.
