‘Im happy’ announces Hazard as £170 million man has message for Kovacic and Jorginho
Real Madrid target Eden Hazard is enjoying playing football under new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri, he has announced.
The little Belgian has been in the transfer headlines for the last few months, with all indications suggesting he was now ready to pack his bags and leave the club to sign for Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Indeed, the 27-year-old playmaker even came out and admitted that he is ready for a fresh challenge after completing all his targets with Chelsea.
However, Sarri managed to convince Hazard to stay put for now and he has begun the season in sparkling form and scored his second of the campaign in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Bournemouth.
The win at the weekend secured Sarri’s fourth straight Premier League win, meaning they will be serious title contenders.
And Hazard has admitted that he is happy playing under the guidance of Sarri, for now.
He was quoted on the Sky Sports website:”I like to have the ball. Not in my own half, but in the last 30 metres.
“I like this type of game. It’s completely different than Antonio Conte or (Jose) Mourinho before.
“We have more ball so for me, it’s not bad.”
Meanwhile, Hazard admitted the signings of Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho have given Chelsea a new dimension.
Chelsea managed to beat off Manchester City to the signing of Jorginho, as the Premier league champions could not compete a deal in time.
While Kovacic arrives on a 12 month loan deal from Real Madrid, who used the midfielder as part of the deal which saw Thibaut Courtois head to the Bernabeu.
Hazard added: “It’s not so different (from the past). The big difference is we bring two players – Jorginho and (Mateo) Kovacic – and they are completely different.
“We just try to keep the ball more often and then when we have a chance to score, we need to score.
“But when we have more ball we can be more dangerous.
“We’re playing good football, so we enjoy. I want to keep this momentum.”
Here is what we think.
Keeping hold of Hazard in the summer was better than any transfer deal Chelsea managed to pull off as he is simply too good to let go.
However, we fear that next summer he will push for a move as playing for Madrid is an opportunity he really wants.
Hazard is right on one thing though, the signings of Kovacic and Jorginho were great deals and they have improved the Chelsea midfield immensely.
