£75 million talks, Dyabala close to Juventus exit, Hazard Chelsea transfer request, Barcelona’s De Ligt boost for Sarri

Here is a roundup of Chelsea news and gossip from icfootballnews

Chelsea target Pablo Dybala is reportedly close to leaving Italian giants Juventus.

Chelsea have beaten the odds and managed to secure Champions League football after their 3-1 win at Watford at the weekend, meaning that boss Maurizio Sarri will be free to splash the cash and try to acquire some big named signings to help take the Blues to that next level.

There has been so many players linked over the past few months that Blues fans have forgotten who could arrive at the end of the season, but one name that has been mentioned as a possible signing is that of Dybala, the Juventus superstar.

Dybala has netted the second-most goals for the Turin club this season, striking 10 times as well as chipping in with four assists, but is reportedly unhappy at playing second fiddle to Cristiano Ronaldo, who arrived from Real Madrid at the end of the season.

And according to reports on Italian publication Calciomercato, Dybala is close to leaving Juventus with the Italians prepared to sell the attacker for an eye-watering €100 million (£85 million).

With Chelsea all set to lose star man Eden Hazard to Madrid at the end of the season, Sarri will be in need of adding a goal-scoring midfielder like Dybala to help fill the void that Hazard will probably leave. (Read More)

Barcelona chief Jordi Mestre has claimed the Champions League semi-finalists are not in for Ajax star Matthijs de Ligt just yet, handing Chelsea a boost in their pursuit.

The talented defender has become one of the most sought after talents in world football after helping the Dutch giants reach the Semi-Finals of the Champions League, and he is expected to leave Ajax at the end of the season

It is believed the likes of Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain are leading the chase to complete a £75 million deal, as the youngster has shown a desire to make either move.

However, Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri knows he needs to spend big money in the summer to even get the Blues challenging for the Premier League title, especially as they could lose star man Eden Hazard in the summer window.

And they have been handed a possible boost in their chase for De Ligt after Mastre admitted that they are not after the Dutchman.

“I don’t know why they’re saying this because [De Ligt] hasn’t signed,” he said.

“[Gerard] Pique is evidently one of the best central defenders in the world, if not the best.
“After him, we have players like [Clement] Lenglet, [Samuel] Umtiti and we’ve signed a very young player in [Jean-Clair] Todibo.

“The defenders we already have are of the highest level. In De Ligt’s case, we’ll speak with the sporting director at the end of the season and we’ll speak not about De Ligt, but about what they say.” (Read More)

Reports have claimed Eden Hazard will look to hand in a transfer request in order to leave Chelsea this summer.

Hazard has been in spectacular form this season and has netted an impressive 26 goals in all competitions to keep Maurizio Sarri in the hunt for a top four spot and Champions League football, while also helping the Blues reach the Europa League semi-finals.

But his performances, and goals, have alerted Real Madrid to the fact that he is now in his prime and enjoying the best football of his career and they are reportedly ready to delve in and take the Belgian superstar to the Bernabeu in a deal worth around £60 million.

It is no secret that Madrid are in need of a summer overhaul and are ready to splash close to £400 million on new players on order to get back challenging Barcelona for the La Liga title, after a very poor season.

Maurizio Sarri convinced Hazard to stick with Chelsea for one more season and the club made it clear that they would not stand in his way should he decide to pursue a dream move to Real Madrid, and according to reports on Spanish publication AS, the Belgian star has told the club to honour their commitment and may look to hand in a transfer request if the agreement is kept.

The Belgian has reportedly reminded Chelsea’s board that they had an agreement and he’s hopeful that the Blues will settle on a reduced fee.

Reports have claimed Arsenal have held talks with Nicolas Pepe about a possible £75 million move away from Lille this summer.

With the Premier League season coming to a close and the Gunners attention focusing on next season, there has been a lot of transfer speculation in the media over the past few months on whom they will look to try and acquire in the coming transfer window.

And one name that has been mentioned about a possible move to the Premier League is that of Pepe, as the 23-year-old Pepe is among the most highly-rated forwards in Europe and his transfer value is estimated at more than 50 million euros (£57 million).

Pepe has scored 20 goals and created 11 assists in all competitions this season and has been tipped to become one of the most deadly strikers in the game, with Arsenal boss Unai Emery a big fan.

And amid all the transfer speculation surrounding his future with the club, Pepe’s agent, Samir Khiat, recently stated the 23-year-old has yet to decide which club he will join, but now looks certain to leave at the end of the season.

But now France Football claims that Arsenal are in contact over a summer bid as they seek to beat off the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea, but the £75 million valuation that Lille have set for Pepe is set to put an end to any serious interest. (Read More)
