Sarri not worried, Willian transfer message, Hazard to stay, £167 transfer announement, Piatek stunner in Chelsea Wednesday
Here is the daily roundup of Chelsea news gossip and transfer talk from icfootballnews.
Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan believes it’s not necessarily a foregone conclusion that Eden Hazard leaves Chelsea at the end of the season.
Hazard has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu for the last few seasons and all indications suggest that the summer window will see the Belgian finally get that ‘dream move’ to La Liga, where he can link-up with childhood idol Zinedine Zidane.
Zidane was re-appointed managed of Madrid last week after the Spaniards humiliating defeat to Ajax in the Champions League, and many believe that the Frenchman will do all he can to secure a deal for Hazard, whom he is a big fan of.
However, Chelsea are still trying to get Hazard to sign a massive £350,000-a-week contract with the club and former Palace Chairman Jordan has claimed that it is not a foregone conclusion that the winger leaves the club.
Jordan said on the TalkSport website: “The kid sends out mixed messages – you never know whether you’re Arthur or Martha with him. One minute he’s here and the next he’s going.
“So I don’t think it’s necessarily a foregone conclusion that he’ll go to Madrid because I think Chelsea have still got a lot of lure about them.
“Everyone’s house is for sale if someone offers you twice the price for it. In this situation, what benefit is the money if they can’t buy any players?”
Maurizio Sarri says he is “not worried” about the possibility of Eden Hazard leaving Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
It is no secret that Hazard is keen on a move to Madrid at the end of the season and all indications suggest that Spaniards are ready to step up their chase and finally land the Belgian superstar for a fee close to the £100 million mark.
And after the arrival of Zinedine Zidane as boss of the Spaniards, many have come to the conclusion that Hazard is now desperate to complete a move to La Liga and work under the guidance of his idol, who has made no secret that he is a fan of the Chelsea man.
However, Sarri has admitted that he is not worried about the possibility of losing his star player at the end of the season, telling Sky Sports news: “You have to ask to Hazard (about Zidane) I think.
“I don’t know at the moment. I didn’t speak with Eden about Zidane.
“I am not worried because you know my opinion. I want only in my team players who want to play for Chelsea, so I can’t be worried.”
Chelsea and Manchester United transfer target Philippe Coutinho has failed to rule out a summer move away from Barcelona.
Coutinho left Liverpool to join Barcelona just over a year ago, but so far has failed to replicate the form he produced at Anfield at the Nou Camp and there has been a lot of transfer speculation linking him with a move to Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United.
Both United and Chelsea are in desperate need of adding to their squads, with the Blues keen to add a replacement for the departing Eden Hazard, while United are looking to add a few world class players to the side.
Several Barcelona stars have offered their backing to Coutinho over the months, but the playmaker fuelled speculation of a move away after Barcelona beat Lyon in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
He said on the TMW website: ‘In the last few weeks, months even, I’ve not been playing well. But I still want to improve.
‘I came to Barcelona to give my best. I live for the moment. You never know what the future holds. I am happy with my performance today.’
Chelsea star Eden Hazard has never talked about a possible move to Real Madrid, claims team-mate Willian.
Belgian winger Hazard has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu all season with reports on his impeding departure from Chelsea in the headlines on a regular basis, especially after he admitted that it would be a dream to play for the Spanish giants.
However, after Madrid shocked many in football by bringing back Zinedine Zidane as coach, there has been an increase of speculation suggesting that Hazard is desperate to now leave the club and play for Real as he wants to work under the guidance of his idol.
But Willian insists Belgium international Hazard is not allowing his mind to wander, telling the TalkSport website: “No doubt, he’s focussed here. He’s never said something about Real Madrid or stuff like this. He just wants to continue to play for Chelsea.”
“I hope he stays with us. But in football you never know what can happen.
“Of course, Eden is a fantastic player, one of the best players in the world. He’s my friend, one of the best players I’ve played with in my whole career.
“I just have to say I hope he stays with us. That’s it.”
AC Milan star and long-term Chelsea target Krzysztof Piątek has admitted that he admired Arsenal as a youngster.
Piatek is now regarded as one of the most exciting strikers in world football and he was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window, but the Blues could not get a deal done and in the end they settled for signing Gonzalo Higuaín instead.
And that meant that Milan had a clear run at trying to sign Piatek for just £35 million, a move which has taken the young strikers game to that next level with six goals in just seven Seria A games for the Italian giants.
But amid all the speculation that Chelsea are interested in a future deal, the striker has come out and revealed that he was an Arsenal fan as a youngster.
He told Calciomercato: “When I was a child I was an Arsenal fan”.
“I loved the style of Wenger and I admired players like Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp. My celebration? I did after that I scored a goal once and from that moment it remained the same. It’s a habit now and it brings good luck so I am not going to change it”.
“I see people go crazy for this celebration here in Italy. I loved Genoa. I had a good time there. I loved the sea, there was good weather and good cuisine”.
