Headline-taking act ‘is a realistic signing for Arsenal’ this summer window
Football finance expert at Sheffield Business School, Dr Rob Wilson has claimed that PSG star Kylian Mbappe is a realistic signing for Arsenal.
Mbappe’s desire to depart the Ligue 1 club next year emerged earlier in the week after it was revealed he wouldn’t be extending his contract, which runs out at the end of next season
And this had led to interest from Arsenal and Manchester United among many other top European clubs, with Real Madrid tipped as favourites to sign the star.
Mbappe recently explained why he will be seeking a new adventure to Gazzetta dello Sport, labelling PSG’s ‘shortcomings’ as a reason.
Now – it has been revealed that Arsenal have a realistic chance of signing the Frenchman as it makes financial sense for the club.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
“Kylian Mbappe does make financial sense for Arsenal”, Wilson told Fruity Slots.
“He’s young enough, still. He’s an iconic sportsman playing at a second-tier French club. PSG generally speaking are second-tier.
“It’s an opportunity to deliver huge brand leverage which I don’t think has been optimised for PSG. You have Nike and the Jordan brand but he’s in the Messi-Ronaldo bracket, or David Beckham in years before.
“But the acquisition value means there’s a lot of pressure for him to perform on the pitch. He’s built his brand on being in the French national team and then a little bit of success for PSG. You’re always looking for these superstars for brand alignment.”
WOULD ARSENAL MAKE A MOVE?
If there was ever a chance for Arsenal to land one of the biggest names in football right now – then adding Mbappe to the squad is a no brainer.
He is just the type of statement signing that fans would get really excited for and honestly – would get the rest of the Premier League worried.
Mbappe has to leave PSG this summer window now after all the drama of the last few weeks – and if ARSENAL are prepared to pay £100 million on Rice – why not pay that on Mbappe?
