Pjanic drops transfer message, Varane message, Sarri wants Arsenal target at Chelsea, star wants summer stay

Here is a roundup of the latest Chelsea news

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has insisted Raphael Varane is going nowhere in the summer transfer window, amid speculation Chelsea are keen on a £100 million transfer deal.

Varane has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons over the past few months after shock reports emerged which claimed that he now wants to leave La Liga at the end of the season and test himself in another top League, with the Premier League and Bundesliga high up on his possible list of destinations.

Chelsea have been long-time linked with a move for the Frenchman, as Maurizio Sarri is desperate to improve his back-line in the summer, and were even boosted after agent Bruno Satin came out and claimed that Varane is actually considering leaving the club in search of fresh challenges, after accomplishing all he could at the Bernabeu.

However, now Zidane is back in charge of the club after leaving last summer, the Frenchman has admitted that he has no intention of letting his best defender leave the club at the end of the season, announcing that he cannot imagine a future without Varane in his squad.

“The positive point of this season finale is that Varane will stay,” Zidane said on the Marca website

“I want the season to end as soon as possible but there are three games left and we have to respect the competition.

“We cannot finish the season giving this image of ourselves.” (Read More)

Long-term Chelsea transfer target Miralem Pjanic admits he doesn’t know if he will still be a Juventus player next season.

Pjanic has become a big part of the Juventus success under Max Allegri over the past few seasons and his performances for the Italian giants have led to a lot of transfer speculation about his long-term future in Seria.

Chelsea are in the market for a new creative player, with midfielder Jorginho failing to live upto expectations, while Mateo Kovacic will reportedly head back to Real Madrid after his season long-loan at the club comes to an end.

And Pjanic has been a name mentioned in the media as a possible £60 million signing, with some reports on the Corriere dello Sport website claiming Sarri is ready to challenge French giants Paris Saint-Germain and secure a deal for the 29-year old.

He said at the weekend: “I don’t know what’ll happen, you should ask the club, not me.” (Read More)

Reports have claimed Chelsea have stepped up their chase to land Arsenal target Ryan Fraser this summer, as he look set to quit Bournemouth at the end of the season.

Danny Welbeck is not guaranteed to get a new contract, Aaron Ramsey has already agreed a move to Italian giants Juventus, while his January signing Denis Suarez has not made the kind of impact that Emery has expected and many reports in the media have all suggested that he will not be getting a new contract to stay at the club beyond this season.

Emery wants more threat from out wide and Fraser certainly provides that, having laid on 13 assists in the Premier League this season with only Chelsea’s Eden Hazard having more assists then the Bournemouth wide man.

The Scottish international’s deal runs out in 2020, and according to reports he is not interested in signing a new contract with the Cherries and will reject any offer that they plan to place on the negotiations table as he is interested in a move to the Emirates.

But according to the Daily Mirror website, Chelsea are now keeping a close eye on the 25-year old winger as they seek to help fill the void of Eden Hazard. (Read More)

Football Expert Julien Laurens has claimed that Gonzalo Higuain wants to stay at Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

Higuain was once regarded as one of the finest goal-scorers in world football and become a legend at Napoli during his brief spell under the guidance of Sarri at the Italian giants, but those days have gone and he is no longer the player he once was.

He has failed to produce the goods on a regular basis and only has fours goals in his 12 appearances for the club, despite the fact that he the Sarri’s main man up top.

Many surrounding Chelsea believe that he should be sold back to Juventus at the end of the season and the Blues should try and acquire a striker that can help fill the void that Eden Hazard will leave when he departs the club for Real Madrid.

He received heavy criticism on social media for his performance in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Sunday, and Laurens claims Higuain loves living in London and would like to stay put.

“It’s quite a fascinating story really,” Laurens told ESPN FC.

“He’s very happy in London, he wants to stay at the club. But what he brings to this team is almost nothing really.

“Maybe you thought the goal he scored against Burnley last Monday would be the turning point, that something would happen and then he would maybe go into better form, and scoring goals again. He doesn’t get many chances but when he has one, like late in the game [against United], he makes a mess of it.

“He’s almost unrecognisable I think from the lethal striker that we got to know at Napoli for example under [Maurizio] Sarri. And the whole point was Sarri wanted him so badly because he thought that he could get the same Higuain that he got at Napoli.

“With the same style of play, with Jorginho there, same system, etc, etc. But instead you’ve got someone who’s scored one goal against Burnley, two against Huddersfield, one against Fulham.

“That’s pretty much it and that’s just not good enough.” (Read More)

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes couldn’t help but tear into Chelsea ace Gonzalo Higuaín, after his performance against the Red Devils.

And in the biggest game of the season, produced one of his most insipid displays to date for Chelsea.

“I think the centre-forward [position] is a problem,” he said.

“Higuain was poor today, they almost played with ten men today.

“I thought Giroud, at least in the last 20 minutes, would have been given a chance.

“What they’ll do if Hazard goes I’m not too sure, that’s obviously going to be a big problem whatever team he’s out of is going to suffer.

“I enjoy watching them, I think they’ve got some good footballers, but have they got enough to challenge for the league? I think they are two or three players short on that.”
