Wow! Roy opens up and drops massive hint £80 million rated Arsenal target Zaha could move this summer
Roy Hodgson has hinted that long-term Arsenal target Wilfried Zaha could move away from Crystal Palace this summer transfer window.
Zaha was in the headlines over the summer transfer window for all the right reasons, as some of the biggest clubs in the game showed an interest in the wingers signature after another impressive campaign for Palace.
However, despite admitting on numerous occasions that he is interested in a big move, Palace stuck a massive price tag on the head of the winger and nobody wanted to pay the massive £80 million price tag that was placed on the winger.
And in the end ex-Gunners boss Unai Emery decided to pay a massive £72 million to secure a club record deal for Nicolas Pepe, who was seen as more of a goal threat after an impressive 23-goals last season.
Zaha has been forgiven for feeling disappointed at missing out on another step up ladder – especially with his emotional ties to Arsenal taken into account, but it seems that he could look to move on this transfer window.
Hodgson was quoted on Sky Sports: “Wilf has made it clear ever since I came to the club really that he would relish a move and would like to move on and find some pastures new, but he is a very valuable player.
“The club realises his value and appreciates his value so really it will depend like it always does on what offers the club are going to receive for him and how they will equate that to the need to keep him or the need to satisfy his wishes and allow him to go.”
Arsenal may no longer be interested in trying to secure a deal for Zaha, but they did make the wrong decision not to sign him last summer and instead acquire Pepe. So if Zaha leaves this summer, it will be interesting to see which club he joins.
