Bayern Munich’s honorary president Uli Hoeness has claimed his club, Liverpool and Real Madrid are all “working” on a deal to appoint Xabi Alonso as their next manager.

Alonso has been heavily linked with a return to Liverpool this summer to replace Jurgen Klopp at Anfield after the German boss admitted that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

Alonso is regarded as one of the finest young managers in the game and is doing a tremendous job over at Bayer Leverkusen – who have the chance to upset the odds and win that Bundesliga title over Bayern Munich.

“He’s [Alonso’s] proven that he can be a coach for the big time,” Hoeness told German news outlet Ran Sport.

“Clubs like LIVERPOOL, Real Madrid, Leverkusen and FC Bayern are working on it.”

Look, Alonso would be coming into the hardest League, taking over one of the biggest clubs and replacing a manager that is regarded as one the best in world football, it may be an opportunity that he decides to ignore.

He does not need to leave Bayer just yet and there will be plenty of time to take over at LIVERPOOL – at the end of the day – you dont want to be the man that replaces Klopp and fails.

However – he is certainly a boss that is growing in reputation and a man that could become one of the very best in the world – it will totally be his choice on the next move he makes.

But it is saying something when these big clubs are keen.
