Sarri sent Premier League message in Chelsea chase for Premier League hitman Wilson
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe says the club will not entertain any interest in England striker and Chelsea target Callum Wilson this January.
Wilson has seen his reputation in the Premier League rise this season and has caught the attentions of Blues boss Maurizio Sarri, who is looking to acquire a new striker in the coming transfer windows.
Wilson has forced his way into the England set-up this season by scoring seven times and marked his first international cap with a goal in the win over the United States at Wembley in November.
But Howe says Bournemouth do not intend to sell any of their ‘best players’ this month.
“I’ve been told about the speculation, it’s not something I seek to read,” he said.
“It’s a waste of time for me to do so. It’s business as normal, Callum has been bright and bubbly this week so no problems there.
“In my opinion, and it’s just my opinion, I wouldn’t sell at any price but I’m the manager of the team trying to create the best team that I can.
“We desperately want to take the team forward and to do that we have got to keep our best players.
“He (Wilson) is a very important member of the team. He has unique attributes that really complement what we do here.
“He’s been a really good goal scorer for us this season, that’s the hardest things to do in the sport so he value him really highly.”
Is Wilson the right kind of player for Chelsea?
Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in Europe and to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge is a testament on how impressive Wilson has been.
But this is just a rumour and Howe has no need to worry about losing Wilson to Chelsea as they will go for a more productive striker that can bang in 20-30 goals a season.
