Mata has message about possible £100m Manchester United signing, Ighalo backs target ‘to break records’, Solskjaer told midfielder ‘perfect’ for Man United
Mata has message about Sancho, Manchester United star Ighalo backs possible signing, United backed to sign Grealish in news of the day
Juan Mata has hailed Manchester United transfer target Jadon Sancho as Solskjaer plots a £100m swoop for the Borussia Dortmund starlet.
United were expected to delve into their transfer kitty over the January window and bring in a few statement signings that would make an impact on the side, and give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side that extra push they need to get back inside the top four by the end of the season.
However, United could not get a deal done for Sancho as Borussia Dortmund did not want to sell their best player half way through the season, and in the end, United failed to make the kind of signings that they needed to improve the side enough.
But United are expected to resume their interest in the summer and will reportedly pay up to £100million for his signature, especially after seeing the young man become the youngest player in the Bundesliga to score 25-goals earlier this season, and now Mata has revealed that he has been impressed by the young Englishman.
Mata, 31, invited fans to take part in a live Q&A on his Instagram channel and was swamped with questions over United’s top summer transfer target, Sancho, and Mata admitted he had been impressed by the Bundesliga ace, He said: “Should we sign Jadon Sancho? What do you want me to say?
“We all know that he’s a great player. He’s having a fantastic season at Borussia, but you know it’s not my responsibility to speak about those things.
“Of course, I like him as a player but I cannot reply to that.”
Former Old Trafford star Wes Brown reckons Villa skipper Jack Grealish would be a “perfect” signing for Manchester United.
Once again it is believed that Paul Pogba will be leaving Old Trafford at the end of the season after enduring another difficult season with the Red Devils, as his name has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons on too many occasions.
It is believed that the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona are interested in taking him away from Manchester, Meaning that ole Gunnar Solskaer may be forced to delve into his transfer kitty and bring in an adequate replacement, with Grealish on the mind of many top Premier League sides.
Grealish has been brilliant for Villa this season and is heavily tipped to join one of the big boys in the summer, and if Pogba does leave the club in the summer transfer window, many fans are hoping that it is Grealish that is signed by the club.
So far he’s amassed seven goals and six assists in 23 Premier League games for Villa who hope to avoid relegation, and Brown has now come out and suggested that he would be the perfect signing for United, Brown told MUTV: “Jack Grealish is an individual that gets things done, takes control of the game and has his own style.”
Look, We have seen in the Premier League that Grealish has the ability to go on and become a real star of the English game, so he needs to move to a big club like United, especially as they would suit his style of play.
Odion Ighalo has tipped Manchester United “priority” target Victor Osimhen to break European goal records – and revealed he “advises” his fellow Nigeria striker.
Despite the fact that the transfer window is months away, and despite the fact that no-one knows whether or not Clubs will be able to make aby transfer signings, there has been alot of speculation in the media linking United with a striker.
Old Trafford loan star Ighalo was signed during the January transfer window in order to add a bit of fire-power to Ole Gunnar’s Solskajer after he failed to replace powerhouse Romelu Lukaku during the summer window, and the little winger has been very impressive.
But United are still in the market for a new striker and have been linked with a move for Osimhen, and Ighalo rates the Lille sensation as “the future of Nigerian football” and said the 21-year-old travelled to watch United‘s 1-1 draw at Club Brugge in February.
Ighalo told Elegbete TV: “We talk, not almost every day, but almost every time I advise him.
“He’s the future of Nigerian football. I always advise him to keep calm, keep working hard and the guy is going to be a celebrity.
“He came to watch our game against Club Brugge in Belgium because it’s closer to where he lives.
“He messaged me he was going to come so I gave him my jersey, and in fact he brought his own jersey for me, too.
“I love him, he’s down to earth, he’s hard working, he has… the mentality of a winner, that’s what I love about him. He has that lion’s heart.
“I just want him to keep working hard the way he’s doing, he’s going to break so many records in Europe and Nigeria.”
He may be the future of Nigerian football, but is he really the man to come in and bang in goals on a regular basis? The Premier League is the best in world football and it is a struggle for even the world class forwards in the game.
