Imminent Blues arrival ‘brilliant signing ‘- £50M man wants to join Chelsea – Star welcome to Chelsea after completing move

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today –

New CHELSEA star Moises Caicedo has been sent a welcome message by former Blues defender Marcel Desailly.

Caicedo has been the talk of the transfer window for the Blues over the past few months – as they simply could not agree a deal with Brighton to bring him to London.

However – after seeing Liverpool make a move to try and get a deal done – the Blues board finally gave into the transfer demands of Brighton and agreed a massive £115 million fee for Caicedo.

He made his debut against West Ham at the weekend – although it wasn’t the best start to his new life as he looked well off the pace and a little slow, especially when he gave the penalty away for West Ham to make it 3-1.

But now the former World Cup winner has welcomes Caicedo to Chelsea and told the Ecuadorian that he needs to adjust his mentality due to the size of the club.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: ‘You don’t need to talk about it. We better start to put the mindset into the system , you need to adjust your implication.

“You are at a big club, and in a big club, you need to prepare yourself much better for each game.

“You need to digest the idea of [costing] £115million.

“You need to be committed.”

Caicedo proved last season with Brighton that he is able to compete at the very highest level of the game and that is why CHELSEA were so keen to get a transfer deal done.

He is now dealing with a lot of pressure and that £115 million fee does not help – if he is not able to adjust his mentality to play for a club like Chelsea – then he will be another expensive flop from that Blues board.

There has been a lot of them over the last couple of transfer windows.

It has been claimed that Arsenal star Florian Balogun is very interested in completing a move to CHELSEA this summer.

After an impressive season last year for Reims in which he scored 22-goals – there has been alot of speculation regarding the future of Balogun and where he will end up.

There has been rumours that he could heading back to France with Monaco – Inter Milan are reportedly interested in a deal – West Ham have been linked with a deal and Chelsea have reportedly held talks over a move.

Despite adding Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku to the squad during the summer window – Chelsea are still keen to add a striker to that front-line and reportedly see Balogun as the perfect addition to drive the club forward.

According to the London Evening Standard, Balogun is now open to securing a move to Stamford Bridge.

The report adds Arsenal are allegedly well aware that Chelsea want to sign Balogun and seemingly wouldn’t block a move to their London rivals.

There has been alot of speculation over the lad – but nobody is willing to meet that £50 million asking price and the Gunners are not forcing a deal to happen.

However – we are sure that he will leave the club in some capacity as he is seemingly not part of the plans of Mikel Arteta – and if he does leave the club – then it will be for a late deal on transfer deadline day.

We are not sure where he will end up – but staying in the Premier League may not be the best idea for the lad as he will struggle to lead that CHELSEA attack – so maybe a move to France or Italy is the way to go – it will give him more time to develop into a top-class striker without the pressure of the British media.

New England Revolution goalkeeper Djorde Petrovic is on his way to Chelsea – and he will be the number one at the club according to USA legend Brad Friedel.

Once again, this transfer window – Chelsea have been the biggest spenders and have managed to bring in the likes of Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, Robert Sanchez, Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to name a few.

However – the transfer window still has a few days to go until the door shuts and there is alot of speculation about who else Mauricio Pochettino wants to bring in over the next few days.

The Blues are in the market for a ‘keeper following the departures of Edouard Mendy to Al Ahli on a permanent deal and Kepa Arrizabalaga’s loan move to Real Madrid.

Chelsea have now agreed to bring the stopper to the Premier League in a deal worth £14 million and he is hoping to make the move before the clubs next Premier League fixture.

Chelsea play Luton Town on Friday night, live on Sky Sports, but the 23-year-old would have to be registered by midday on Thursday to be available for the game at Stamford Bridge.

And amid his imminent arrival to the club – USA legend Brad Friedel has opened up and claimed that he will become the new number one at Stamford Bridge.

He said: “Tremendous worker and shot-stopper. Very rarely leaves bad rebounds, exceptional at holding shots. He has a wonderful career ahead of him and has been the best goalkeeper in the MLS by a country mile. I’ve mentioned him to quite a few PL teams!”

“He’s the kind of keeper that you and the whole team, especially the defense, feels comfortable with when you have him behind you.

‘His defensive skills, how he protects the team, and defensively how he reacts to the side balls, his presence in the defensive way is really great.”

He has been impressing over in the MLS and it is easy to see why clubs may be interested – but he is no better than Kepa is and certainly not a man that will be at the club long.

This is just another so-so signing by that CHELSEA board.
