Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today –

Chelsea star Martin Odegaard has hailed Norwegian wonderkid Antonio Nusa as an exciting player.

Nusa is a lad that has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months, as there were reports that London giants CHELSEA made an offer to try and get a deal done.

However – a move to Stamford Bridge never worked out as Chelsea didnt want to meet the asking price of Nusa, which has opened up the door for other clubs to keep an eye on the young man ahead of the January window.

Nusa put on a masterful display for his country during their Euro 2024 qualifier against Georgia. The 18-year-old set up goals for both Manchester City talisman Erling Haaland and Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard during the 2-1 victory.

The clash marked just his second appearance for Norway at senior level and yet he now already boasts a tally that reads one goal and three assists.

And amid all the speculation – Arsenal captain Odegaard has opened up and revealed that Nusa is a very exciting player that has a big future ahead of him in the game of Football.

“Fantastic! He is an incredibly exciting player,” Odegaard told TV2. “You see it, everything he gets the ball, it’s exciting. He is still young and will get even better. It was cool to see him. He deserved to get the chance that he takes it to such an extent. Incredibly cool!

“He must continue as he has done. Work hard, be humble. He’s a nice boy. Very calm and nice type. It’s going to be just fine. He just has to enjoy the football and continue to deliver as he does. Then it will be good.”

Nusa is certainly making all the right noise in the game and it is easy to see just why CHELSEA are very keen to get a transfer deal done. But once again, do they really need to keep on adding talents to the side?

PAEZ BREAKS RECORD –

Chelsea signing Kendry Paez made history as he played for Ecuador in a World Cup qualification win over Uruguay,

Since the arrival of Ted Boehly at the club last summer – the Club have been spending some serious money on some of the best young talents in the game right now.

It is clear that the American has a long-term plan at Stamford Bridge and has made sure that CHELSEA have beaten off their rivals for those talents – and it seems that they have once again done it with the signing of Paez

Paez is a talent that has been attracting all the big clubs in the game – and now the lad has become the youngest player ever to represent La Tri at just 16.

The teenager started the match against Uruguay, alongside future Chelsea teammate Moises Caicedo, and impressed in a 2-1 win for the home side in Quito.

In doing so he became the youngest player ever to turn out for the Ecuador senior side, and the second youngest South American to ever play international football behind the one and only Diego Maradona.

And after the game – Chelsea signing Caicedo opened up on the sensation – Caicedo told La Cancha Con Majo: ‘He’s a crack! The truth is there are times where I watch Independiente games, it’s good to see those talents in Ecuador because we know we have very good youth.

‘I’m very happy for him, for everything that he’s doing.

‘All I can tell him is keep on the right track, doing things really well, and he’s going to go really far because the talent he has is incredible.’

IS IT THE RIGHT DECISION TO JOIN CHELSEA NOW?

Chelsea fans will not get to see the lad make the move OFFICIALLY for a number of seasons – which is a shame – but hopefully he will not get forgotten about and lost in that CHELSEA system when he does arrive at the club.

It is a massive decision from the lad, as it could make or break his career in the game – but we wont know the answer to that until he actually makes the move to the club

TONEY CLAIM MADE –

Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed that Ivan Toney would be an upgrade on Nicolas Jackson for Chelsea.

CHELSEA needed to splash some cash in the transfer window and add players to the side that will make a difference this season, and decided to make a move to sign Nicolas Jackson from Villareal.

The speedy attacker had been making a real name for himself over in the Spanish League and the Chelsea board believed that the £24 million would be a good investment on a striker that has alot of potential.

However – he has not yet made the impact that Chelsea would have liked and there is speculation that Chelsea will splash some more cash in the January window to try and sign Ivan Toney from Brentford.

Chelsea could not make a move for Toney in the summer window because he is banned from all football activities until September 16th, and cannot play football until half way through the January transfer window.

But amid all the speculation, Agbonlahor has opened up and claimed that Toney would be an upgrade on Jackson, while also claiming that Tottenham should make a move to try and get a deal done.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

Agbonlahor told Football Insider: “I think Toney is an upgrade on Jackson at CHELSEA, who’s a bit raw still.

“But he goes into most teams, apart from Man City.

“Chelsea will want to make it happen, and they’ll give him the 20-year deal to do that.

“But I think Spurs should look at him as well. They’ve got Maddison, Son, Kulusevski – but they’re missing a top striker.

“Richarlison isn’t the answer. Toney could give a team like Tottenham a huge push for the second half of the season.

“I think he will have his pick of clubs. Strikers like him are rare, and they’re sought-after.”

There is no doubt that Toney would be a great signing for the club, but is he still too old for their plan at the age of 28?
