Here is a roundup of the top Manchester United news and gossip that we think you guys could have missed – including the likes of Scott McTominay – Casemiro ad Matthijs De Ligt.

Sam Allardyce says selling Scott McTominay would be a ‘big disaster’ for Manchester United and has told the Red Devils that they should keep hold of the midfilder this summer window.

The Scotland international was in the starting line-up as United stunned Manchester City to win the FA Cup final in May, and seemed to be a big part of the plans of Erik Ten Hag.

A sale of McTominay this summer looked much less likely than last, but there has been alot of speculation in the media that Fulham are keen to sign the midfielder this transfer window.

Fulham have recently just signed Emile Smith-Rowe from Arsenal and are now reportedly keen to sign McTominay from Manchester United over the next few weeks – but Allardyce believes it would be a ‘disaster’ for United boss Erik ten Hag if McTominay left as he has become an increasingly important player at Old Trafford and a ‘goalscorer’ for club and country.

‘Now that Erik ten Hag is settled it’s going to be interesting to see whether he’s able to get Man United where they need to go,’ Allardyce said on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast.

‘It depends on whether the players are onside with him or not. I had a sneaky suspicion at the back end of last season that he lost a few players.

‘I think that is a key element in terms of trust between the manager, players and backroom staff, is an absolute must if you’re going to finish in any position in the Premier League that you surprise people with.

Manchester United are going to massively surprise people if they finish first or second but you need to be all on board and get unity, it looks like they lost that.

‘Letting Scott McTominay go would be a big disaster for Man United, he’s become a goalscorer for Scotland and for United.’

CASEMIRO HINT DROPPED –

Erik Ten Hag has offered an update about Casemiro’s future and pretty much revealed that the Brazilian midfielder will indeed still be at Manchester United by the end of the transfer window.

Over the past few transfer windows – the Board have brought some experienced players to Old Trafford in hope that they could improve on the third placed finish of last season.

However – there has been a number of poor performances in that Manchester United shirt this season and after the Red Devils had one of their worst finishes in the League in recent memory.

Casemiro excelled during his first season at United but last season was one to forget for the Brazilian, as he suffered a dramatic loss of form, and there has been alot of transfer talk that he could be sold this summer.

And Marca recently claimed that even Cristiano Ronaldo has made the first steps to bringing Casemiro to Saudi Arabia by calling the midfielder to persuade him to move to the club. The report adds that the superstar is unhappy with the club’s recruitment and wants it to be rectified this summer, when the transfer window opens.

However – withe the new season just around the corner – Ten Hag has hinted that Casemiro will still be at the club by the end of the transfer window – He said: “Case has had a pre-season so he’s very fit in this moment.

“As a team, we work very good together, that makes it easier for Case.

“He’s a great football player and he can bring his skills in and you say he’s important for the game for our team. I don’t have any idea or signal if not [that he could leave]. We are very happy with him.”

DE LIGT TIPPED FOR SUCCESS –

Louis Saha has claimed that Matthijs de Ligt will be a success at Manchester United and that the Premier League will be a good fit for him as the Dutchman makes the move from the Bundesliga to the English top-flight.

After the injury to Leny Yoro in pre-season – it has been widely expected that Erik ten Hag gets a new defender signed by United this transfer window, and De Ligt is the man that United have been very keen to sign over the past few days.

According to the Sky Sports website – Manchester United have agreed to bring the Dutchman to Old Trafford after the player completed his medical and agreed some big personal terms over a move to Old Trafford.

And after hearing the news that Man United have signed De Ligt – Louis Saha has revealed tat he will be a great signing for the Red Devils – He told CSDB.gg: “Matthijs de Ligt is a confident player and a leader in his own right, but he has struggled to maintain his form in the years since leaving Ajax.

“Having said that, I think the Premier League is a good fit for him and it will provide him that extra motivation to get back to his very best.

“There is also the surprise element of having him come from abroad so strikers might not know how to play against him.”

Sky Sports’ Nick Wright was at Wembley ahead of Manchester United‘s game against Man City in the Community Shield and claimed that Man United fans will be very delighted wit the signing of the Dutchman – he said:”Jonny Evans has served the club well since his return last year but his presence in the team today, at 36, combined with the injury to new signing Leny Yoro, underlines the need for reinforcements in central defence.

“Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt fits the bill. The Netherlands international is well-known to Erik ten Hag, his former boss at Ajax, and, at 24, he should have his peak years ahead of him.

“The deal to bring him to the club comes too late for any kind of involvement today, of course, but it is a timely boost ahead of the Premier League campaign, especially with Noussair Mazraoui set to follow.”
