Chelsea’s summer signing OFFICIALLY told by CEO he has made ‘Big Mistake!
Villarreal CEO Fernando Roig Negueroles says Filip Jorgensen was overly ‘hasty’ joining Chelsea this summer and believes the goalkeeper would have benefitted from another season in Spain.
CHELSEA have high hopes for Jorgensen and consider the Denmark Under-21 international as a potential No.1 in the future after making the decision to get a transfer deal done foe the big man.
However – he has not yet made his Premier League debut as he is sitting behind Robert Sanchez as the clubs number two and Jorgensen will have to be patient for regular minutes under Enzo Maresca.
Now Roig Negueroles feels the shot-stopper’s ‘growth and development’ would have been aided by staying put at Villarreal, and claimed that the stopper made a mistake from making a move to the Blues so early in his career: ‘The truth is that we didn’t want to sell either Alex [Sorloth] or Filip. We knew that we had to make a sale, but we didn’t foresee those,’ he told Spanish publication AS
‘In the end it happened because both players wanted to leave and the offers were attractive enough to accept.
‘In both cases we followed the player’s wishes, but we wouldn’t have sold.
‘We knew that we would have to make a sale this summer, but not those two.’

Jorgensen is one of the many players that CHELSEA probably did not need to sign in the summer window – they have a number of decent stoppers already at the club.
Jorgensens should have also stayed at the Spanish side for another season – he is not quite ready to make a move to a club like Chelsea and make any sort of impact – he could get lost in the system.
He could develop into a big player in the coming seasons – but at the end of the day – he did not need to make the move to Stamford Bridge and could regret it like many before him
