Sorry Man United as £75 million goal machine Jovic will sign for Chelsea this summer …..if
Reports have claimed Eintract Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic would prefer a summer move to Chelsea over Manchester United.
Chelsea ended month of speculation during the January transfer window and managed to secure a loan deal for Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuaín, while also wrapping up a deal which saw Alvaro Morata depart for Atletico Madrid, as they needed to revamp the front-line.
Higuaín was impressive at times during his stay at times, but there is speculation that Chelsea are looking to sign a more long-term answer to their problems, as the Argentine is coming towards the back end of his career and Jovic has been linked with a move.
Recent reports have claimed Chelsea have already made a £39 million offer to sign the hitman, who has scored an impressive 17 Bundesliga goals Frankfurt this season, but that was swiftly rejected by the German side as they feel that Jovic is worth close to the £75 million mark.
And according to Football.London, there’s one thing that is giving them the edge over Manchester United, who are also said to be interested in the Serb, and that is the fact that the Blues have qualified for next season’s Champions League, which the report also states is of high importance to Jovic.
It’s expected that Jovic moves on from the Bundesliga this summer with not only Chelsea and United interested, but Barcelona too.
Jovic is one of the best young strikers in world football right now and if Chelsea can secure a deal for his services it would be a great bit of business, especially if they keep Higuaín at the club as the youngster could learn a thing or two playing alongside the world class Argentine.
However, Jovic is on fire right now and if he continues to score the goals, he will attract even more interest from big clubs that will make a deal for Chelsea even more difficult.
Chelsea need this transfer ban to be overturned or they could miss out on one of the most talented strikers in the game right now, and a man that could help fill the goals void that Eden Hazard will leave when he departs the club.
