Juventus boss Allegri opens up and officially tells Chelsea world class target ‘has asked to leave’

Reports have claimed Juventus are set to re-sign defender Martin Caceres from Lazio with manager Massimiliano Allegri confirming that Chelsea target Medhi Benatia will leave this month.

Despite being a big player under the guidance of Allegri, Benatia has expressed his desire to leave the Italian giants this month, with a whole host of clubs linked with a move.

Chelsea have been reportedly been eyeing up a possible move for Benatia over the past few months, with the Blues in desperate need of adding a world class defender to the back-line in order to help them achive their goals of getting back into a top four spot.

And it seems that Juventus are preparing for life after Benatia, as the Italians are all set to re-sign Caceres as his immediate replacement.

Allegri said after Caceres arrived for his medical: “He is not a makeshift solution, but a strong choice, because Benatia has asked to leave.

“It wouldn’t make sense to keep a player who is reluctant. Caceres is a good player and knows this environment.”

Here is what we think.

Chelsea are a big side that have a big problem and if they could secure a deal and bring a player of the quality of Benatia to the side, it would improve their chances of getting back into that top four spot massively.

But if they are sriously keen on doing a deal then they need to move qucikly as there is reports suggesting that Benatia is ready to take a big wage and make the move to Dubai, a move that could be on the horizon.

Benatia is top-class and just the type of player that would come in and help ease the pressures on both David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger
