Boss delighted after shock five-year deal has been signed – sealed and announced

Both Man United and Chelsea have seen Aston Villa sign Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara on a free deal.

The former Marseille star thrived in a holding role at Stade Velodrome, appearing in 170 games across all competitions after initially breaking into their senior squad in 2016.

His performances for the French giants has led to constant speculation that both Chelsea and Man United were ready to make their moves and try to offer him a move to their clubs – especially as they both need to improve before the start of next season.

However – the 22-year old made the decision that a move to Villa would be the one that he most desires right now and agreed a big five-year contract with Steven Gerrards impressive side.

Villa have confirmed Kamara’s arrival on a free transfer, and head coach Steven Gerrard has expressed his delight after sealing his first new signing of the summer.

“I am delighted that we have been able to attract one of the most promising young talents in European football,” Gerrard told the club’s media.

“We have a very clear plan to make our team stronger and Bouba is an important part of that.”
