Inter ‘determined’ to get £60 million Chelsea deal done, while Lampard told he has “won the lottery” with these two stars
Inter Milan are reportedly determined to sign Chelsea star N’Golo Kante next summer, with Real Madrid also keen.
Kante impressed once again as the Blues cruised to a 4-1 win over Sheffield United on Saturday but there has been alot of speculation in the media over the past few moths that he is one player that Frank Lampard will allow to leave the club in the coming windows.
And Canal claims Inter boss Antonio Conte is eager to be reunited with the Chelsea midfielder, 29, after bringing him to Stamford Bridge in 2016. The pair won the Premier League title together that season and added the FA Cup in 2017 before Conte was sacked.
However, Frank Lampard recently came out and revealed just how important he is to this Chelsea side: “He played about 50 per cent of the games last year and that is a big loss for half the season, a player of his level,” Lampard said.
“So I made a big, big step to try to manage his training and games and make sure that we attempt to have him fit and ready for as many games as we can.
“His attributes are incredible, he can play in many positions in the midfield. The energy and ability to win the ball back, but also his ability on the ball, which is sometimes underrated, is amazing. He can play in different roles.
“People always want to talk about that he’s the best defensive midfielder and should be in a deeper role. But he can play in lots of different roles to massive effect and I am pleased he is fit now. We will have to keep managing that to make sure he stays fit, because he is massively important.”
Meanwhile, Graeme Souness has claimed that Chelsea have “won the lottery” with full-backs Reece James and Ben Chilwell.
James has developed into one of the very best attacking full-backs in the Premier League since he returned to Chelsea just a few seasons ago and earned the right to play in Lampards starting eleven on a regular basis.
And after making a real name for himself at Leicester over the past few seasons, Chelsea splashed the cash and managed to secure a transfer deal for Chilwell, who is one of the best in Europe and a player that can be world class.
And Souness was full of praise for the duo after after the Blues’ 4-1 win over Sheffield United, He said on the SUN: “This happens all the time when you buy a player for a lot of money, all the focus is on him. Ben Chilwell they spent £50 million on a full-back and all the focus is on him.
“In Reece James, he’s a top player. Given his age, he’s going to get better and better.”
