Fans left stunned after Potters world class midfielder makes massive £190,000-a-week Chelsea decision
It has been sensationally claimed that Ngolo Kante has rejected the latest contract offer from Chelsea
The new Chelsea owners are already starting to make a statement at the club after sacking Thomas Tuchel – bringing in Graham Potter – and handing their stars massive contracts to stay at Stamford Bridge
Kante is one of those players – a man that has helped the club to Champions League and Premier League glory – a man that protects that back-line with 110 per cent – a man that the fans love because of his desire to win
However – he has less than 12 months left on his current deal at Stamford Bridge and there has been alot of speculation about his long-term future at the club
What is the latest?
The Athletic say that Chelsea have offered Kante a new contract to sign – but that has been swiftly rejected
It has been claimed that he has been offered just two years – with a further 12 month extension – but he wants more
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was given a three-year deal, despite being two years older than Kante – while Kalidou Koulibaly was given a four-year deal – so the reports say Kante has rejected the club’s proposal and he is holding out for a longer deal.
It comes as two Premier League sides show interest in Kante, with the midfielder free to speak to other clubs from January 1st.
Kante can sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs on January 1st, though English sides would have to wait.
