Martin Keown has opened and claimed that Arsenal need to sign a striker that will get Premier League defenders worried.

But it is no secret that Mikel Arteta still wants to delve into that transfer kitty at the end of the season and try to find a striker that will score on a regular basis, especially as it is expected that Alexandre Lacazette will leave

The Frenchman has been a great servant for Arsenal over the past few seasons – but his time at the club will surely come to an end after his lack of goals contributed in the Gunners not winning a trophy or getting into the Champions League

That has led to all sorts of speculation in the media about what type of striker that will be coming to the Emirates in the transfer window – but Keown has told Mikel Arteta that he needs to sign a striker like Henry – Wright or Anelka – forwards that defenders will worry about

He told TalkSport: “As a defender, I was talking about Ian Wright, Thierry Henry and Nicolas Anelka the other day, these guys give you belief that you can win games.

“We [defenders] throw ourselves in front of balls to black things, because eventually, they [strikers] are going to get the chance to win us the game.

“[Eddie] Nketiah has done an amazing job, but we know he is a second-string striker, not an A-liner.”

Arsenal do need to sign a striker that can worry defenders – that has the ability to score the amount of goals that will get the club back into the habit of winning trophies and playing Champions League football

There are a few options out there that Arsenal could sign – but it will be a question if they can convince them to join a side that will be playing in the Europa League next season

Arteta must know what he needs – but will he get the money to get it?

…only the manager, his coaches and management of arsenal fc shld be blamed if arsenal misses top four.Artetand Edu. both veterans of premiership know that d league emphasizes pace, physicality and power(mental and physical tenacity)A good prospect for premiership shld have at least two of these features, all others been equal.Physicality was Arsenal’s main undoing against Toth’s and new castle…only d defence had players who can contest
against physically aggressive players.(don’t forget the invincibles av. height was six foot)
Arteta’s inexperience and poormanagement//relationship skills denied the team of hungry and committed players who could have greatly helped the goal.As at January window
teams replenished their squads for d final runnings
but arsenal coaches and management couldn’t foresee a tight and explosive end,the fatigue and injuries that may set in ,: let go, nine players without bringing in any. They failed the young hugely talented lads who had committedly carried the team to where we find ourselves. The sakas,Odegards,ESR,Nketiah,Martinelli etc We shld be proud of them !We lost to poor management and coaches.
