Klopp excited about new signing – Seria A star opens door to Liverpool move – Klopp sent Bundesliga message

LIVERPOOL, KLOPP

Here is a roundup of the top Liverpool news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed –

LIVERPOOL have been urged to avoid re-signing Sadio Mane this summer amid reports over the future of the 31-year-old.

The Senegal star joined the Bundesliga giants from Liverpool last summer in a deal worth around £32million.

However, Mane’s struggled to hold down a first-team spot in Germany and has managed just 12 goals in his debut campaign at the club.

The former Liverpool star had a bust-up with Leroy Sane following Bayern’s defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League, was fined two weeks’ wages, and heavily tipped to leave the club

That has led to some stunning reports in the media that Liverpool could bring him back to the Premier League but former Liverpool right-back Glen Johnson is of the view Jurgen Klopp’s side should steer clear of a deal to bring Mane back to Merseyside, telling Neue Online Casinos:

‘Klopp should not look at Mane again. He is a fantastic player, but he would be coming back to a completely different team to the one that he left.

‘He was great for Liverpool at the time, but it does not mean that he would be great for them now. I don’t think they should go for him.

‘For Newcastle though, it would be huge. Being in the Champions League will help them attract even better players, and Mane would be an amazing signing.

‘They need to make the most of it this year as if they do not finish in the top 4 next year, they will still have Champions League quality players with them.

‘That will therefore help them bounce back.”

At LIVERPOOL , Mane was a key figure in Jurgen Klopp’s high press and he’s built for the pace and intensity of English football – but it would be a mistake to bring him back when he clearly does not want to be at Anfield anymore

Klopp on Mac Allister deal –

Jurgen Klopp has reacted to the news that LIVERPOOL have signed Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Mac Allister will adopt the No.10 jersey and arrives on the back of 112 appearances and 20 goals for the south-coast club since March 2020.

Upon completion of the deal, Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com: “We are adding a very talented, very smart, very technically skilled boy to our squad and this is super news, really it is.

“I do not think the football world needs me to say too much about Alexis’ qualities because they are already pretty well known but it is clear that he is someone who can play in a number of positions in the midfield and is an all-rounder, I would say. He is calm and composed and someone with proper game intelligence.

“Of course, he is a player we have known about for a long time and I have watched him grow from a young boy coming into the Premier League to a man who helped his country win the World Cup. That is quite a journey.

“My admiration and respect for what Brighton are doing is well known and Alexis has been a part of the journey that they have been on in becoming one of the toughest and best sides in the Premier League.

“I’m really happy his next steps will now be with us and we get to work with a player who is already excellent and experienced, but also has so much more to come given he is just 24 years old.

“He is just as excited to be joining and working with us and that already makes it a good partnership, but there is no pressure on him. He is still so young, so it is obvious he will only improve and our job is to help him take the next steps.

“I’m grateful to everyone at the club who helped make this transfer happen and I am sure I speak for everyone here when I say I cannot wait to start working with Alexis.

“It will be a bit of time before he is able to play at Anfield in front of our fans but in this modern world I am sure he will see how our supporters will welcome him to the LIVERPOOL family when he looks at his phone today and sees the messages online. They will make him feel at home straight away. I have no doubt about that.”

Amrabat boost –

LIVERPOOL target Sofyan Amrabat has fueled the speculation he could move to England this summer.

The midfielder plays his club football for Italian side Fiorentina, where he has made over 80 appearances since joining them in 2020 – but it is his performances at the World Cup that has opened the door to a possible move to the Premier League.

It is no secret that Jurgen Klopp wants to add some depth to that squad and sign players that will make a difference when called up – and Amrabat is a man that is on the shipping list.

Now – he has opened up and hinted that he is all set to leave Fiorentina this summer: “Of course, the Premier League is a fantastic league, one of the strongest in the world,” Amrabat told the Daily Mail.

“It would be nice to play there one day, but it’s not that I want only to go to England, because Spain is nice, Serie A is a nice league.

“Football has changed a lot, it’s more physical, you have more to be an athlete, the tempo and intensity is higher.

“Of course, in England the intensity is very high, so I think it could suit me.”

LIVERPOOL are one of the biggest teams in the Premier League and need to make signings that will get the rest of the English top-flight worried.

Amrabat is a very good player – but will he really get Man City, Arsenal , Chelsea or Man United worried? No he will not.
