Perfect Timo! Klopp sent surprising transfer message in Liverpool chase for Werner

Jurgen Klopp has been told Timo Werner is perfect for his side, but Liverpool should not make a move for the striker.

Werner is regarded as one of the best younsg striker sin world football and is being courted by a number of Europes best clubs, with Liverpool and Bayern Munich reportedly winning the chase for his signature.

Werner has already hinted that he wants to leave RB Leipzig in search of a bigger move and has already rejected the Germans offer of a double-your-money wage. But despite rumours that Klopp is very interested in a deal German football expert Raphael Honigstein believes that the German boss should not make a move for the former Stuttgart striker.

He wrote for ESPN: “Klopp’s insistence that the squad is now ‘complete’ would suggest that a fourth transition-type forward for a total outlay north of €100m (£86.8m) might not be a priority right now.

“LFC are probably more interested in bringing in a versatile centre-back with the ability to deputise in wide areas.

“In purely tactical terms, however, few attacking players look as perfect a fit for the explosive style favoured at Anfield.

“Just like his potential teammates, Werner thrives on spaces to attack; just like them, he attacks in quick bursts and often looks most dangerous without the ball.

“By Premier League standards, his price tag looks almost cheap, especially if his high re-sale value is factored in as well.

“The return of Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain notwithstanding, Liverpool could really do with a proven goalscorer able to fill any of the three forward position.”

Here is what we think.

Liverpool have one of the best attacks in world football and need to add players like Werner to add strength in depth, so despite being told not to make a move for the German, they should.

Werner is a brilliant young striker that scores goals for fun, and at the tender age of 22, he has many years at the very top ahead of him.
