Jurgen Klopp told to get Liverpool transfer deal done for world class Spaniard

Liverpool have been told that they should allow Thiago to depart the club this summer transfer window.

A hip injury ruled Thiago out for most of last season, with Jurgen Klopp not able to start him since the 3-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers in February.

The Spaniard’s frustrating campaign epitomized LIVERPOOL ’s mood overall as he struggled to make an impact in 2022-23, and there is a feeling that he could be sold this summer.

A report last month claimed Thiago is wanted by former club Barcelona, where he emerged as a youngster over a decade ago.

Now – Gabby Agbonlahor has encouraged the club to allow him to depart – claiming that the Reds have already hinted that he is finished at the club.

WHAT HAS HE SAID – 

“He’s not guaranteed to start, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he did leave.“ He told Football Insider.

“But you know  Liverpool need a bit more legs in that centre midfield so I can see him maybe moving on this summer. It’s incredible when you think about it, given how good he is.

“I don’t think he is finished, but I can tell you that the fact that he took Liverpool out of his social media profile’s could be very telling.

“He still has a lot to offer, but he is used to starting and after bringing in two midfielders alongside Henderson and Fabinho, it is unlikely that he will get any gametime with the players signed and more coming in.”

SHOULD LIVERPOOL SELL THE SPANIARD?

Thiago is a world class player that is just not Premier League material – his body cant handle it.

If a right offer does arrive then maybe Klopp will be open to selling – but Thiago would defintely be interested in making a move back to Barcelona and establishing himself in that squad.

It is a shame to see that he has not hit the heights that many had hoped for – but if LIVERPOOL do decide to keep him this summer – he needs to stay fit so he can shine in the centre of that midfield.

As we said – he is one of the best midfielders in the game
