Klopp told to sign Brazilian star – Legend wants £140M duo at Anfield – Frenchman opens door to potential deal
Here is a roundup of the top Liverpool news and Gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today –
Jamie Carragher says he would be ‘delighted’ if Liverpool signed Mason Mount and Alexis Sanchez in the summer window.
Liverpool have had a terrible season this year and will need to delve into that transfer kitty in order to revamp the side and get back into the Champions League – and challenge for that Premier League title.
Various names have been linked with Anfield, most prominently Mount and Mac Allister who are expected to leave their respective clubs in the next transfer window.
Now – amid all the speculation – Carragher has opened up and revealed that he would love to see both players arrive in the coming transfer window.
‘Mason Mount is a funny one, in that people always seem a little bit down on him for whatever reason. I’ve never got it, I’m a huge fan,’ Liverpool legend Carragher told The Anfield Wrap.
‘He’s a Champions League winner. I really like him. He’s got energy to press, he’d provide a greater goal threat from midfield than we have from Jordan [Henderson] in that position right now.
‘Every top manager who’s been at Chelsea has picked him. He plays for England and I think the club have also got to be thinking about that homegrown situation.’
He added: ‘If we brought Mac Allister and Mason Mount in, I’d be delighted with that.
‘I definitely want us to bring a defensive midfield player in as well, because Mount and Mac Allister are more offensive midfield players.
‘I don’t think our problem is going forward, our problem is defensively.
If we’re gonna get back to where we wanna be, which is challenging Manchester City and challenging for big trophies, we’ve got to sort ourselves out defensively because that’s been the biggest problem this season.’
We believe that Liverpool fans would agree?
MBAPPE BOOST –
transfer target Kylian Mbappe will not take up the option of a one-year addition to his Paris Saint-Germain contract
Mbappe is easily one of the most dangerous players in the world right now and a man that will eventually become the best player in the game – especially with Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi right at the back-end of their careers.
But despite the fact he has a massive contract at PSG – Their latest failings in the Champions League has led to more speculation that he could leave the French giants at the end of the season and test himself in the Premier League or La Liga.
Now reports have claimed Mbappe will not take up the option of a one-year addition to his Paris Saint-Germain contract – ensuring that he will be a free agent from next summer.
Mbappe previously refused to commit his future to PSG following suggestions of an exit. “For now, a second World Cup,” the France international said in November when quizzed over his alleged transfer request.
“After that, I don’t know.” It was not until March that he returned to the issue.
Reporter Iomie Stanley has told icfootballnews that Mbappe would be the dream signing for the club.
He said: “I’d like to see Liverpool sign Kylian Mbappe, I think the club should go for top players like Mbappe. Especially when I see the amount we spend on others. It depends on his will to come to the club, but we should go for top players like him and build a team around him.
‘That would be the dream signing for the club, to build a team around him with young players around him.
“He’s won a lot of trophies and he’s hungry for more, so this is the type of player Chelsea should look for.
“Would Mbappe be tempted by Liverpool? Anything is possible! To tempt a player like Mbappe, it’s about building a relationship. It’s about more than just preparing a big-money offer.
JOELINTON MESSAGE –
Liverpool have been urged to sign Newcastle United midfielder Joelinton in the summer window
Liverpool have not had the best of seasons and will look to delve into that transfer kitty to add players to the side that will freshen up the squad and help them get back to challenging for titles.
That has led to some stunning reports in the media which have claimed that Liverpool are very much interested in a deal to sign Mason Mount – who is yet to agree a new contract at Stamford Bridge.
However – former Liverpool star Hamann has urged his old club to forget about England international Mount and instead turn their attentions to Newcastle’s Joelinton.
The 26-year-old Brazilian has impressed under Eddie Howe, registering eight goals and three assists this term.
‘I would not pay the money that Chelsea want for Mason Mount,’ Hamann told Casinos En Ligne.
‘I think the players in midfield are very similar in their technical ability, Liverpool need a bit more of a physical presence.
‘Joelinton from Newcastle United has that physical presence that Liverpool needs, he can nick a goal too.
‘Alexis Mac Allister will be a brilliant signing, but they’ll have to battle Manchester City for his signature.
‘I can’t see Joelinton leaving Newcastle because he is playing Champions League football next season. But a player with his stature and physicality would be great in that Liverpool midfield.’

Joelinton has been very impressive this season – there is not doubt about that. But he is not good enough to be a regular starter in that Liverpool side, so signing him wouldnt make much of a difference to the side.
