Jurgen Klopp has opened up and set his departure date from Liverpool!
Jurgen Klopp has set a date for his departure from Liverpool, with the German planning to exit the club at the end of his current contract in 2024.
A dominant season by the men from Anfield has seen them secure Premier League glory with a record seven games to spare, their first Premier League title and their first league title on 30 seasons.
They are also the reigning Champions of Europe, and until that Champions League is won this season, they are both the Champions of Europe and the English League, which has a good ring to it doesnt it?
But despite being a few years off yet, there has been alot of talk about when Klopp will want to leave the club, especially as all the big clubs will be trying to tempt him away from Anfield in the next couple of windows.
But it seems that Klopp has no immediate plans to leave the club until his contract runs out in 2024, and has even admitted that he may look to head back home to his homeland.
“Four years in Liverpool,” Klopp told SWR Sport when asked how long he intends to stick around in England.
Asked if he intends to head back to Germany at that point, the Reds boss said: “Definitely to live, after my career. Most likely even to Mainz.”
He added: “In five years the world can look very different again.”
Klopp knows that he has a world class side that is capable of going on and becoming very dominant in both Europe and the Premier League, but he needs to push on now and add a few top class players to the side, as their rivals will be hoping to improve to challenge for next season.
He will leave the club one day as one of the greatest managers that the club have ever had, and that is something that many Liverpool fans will cherish.
But for now, they dont have to worry about the German’s future.
