£100m man suited to Chelsea, Lamps told Grealish will leave, Lamps told to follow through with £80m deal, Chelsea tell United to name Hendeson price, Cash-plus-Kepa for Oblak
Koulibaly suited to Chelsea, Grealish to leave, Henderson contact made, cash-plus-Kepa offer for Oblak, Chelsea urged to sign Rice in Chelsea roundup..
Former Chelsea defender Frank Lebeouf thinks Kalidou Koulibaly would be more suited to the Blues than Manchester United.
Regarded as one of the finest defenders in the game right now, and tipped to leave Napoli when the transfer window opens up at the end of the month, there has been alot of speculation in the media linking Chelsea and Manchester United with a move.
Both teams have great attacks that will cause damage next season, but defensively they have been worrying this season and they will both need to improve if they want to challenge for that Premier League title.
But with both clubs interested, Leboeuf has claimed that Chelsea would be more suited to Koulibaly than a move to United, he was quoted on the Daily Express website: “I will never ask him to go to Manchester United for many reasons.
“I want him to win some stuff and I think Manchester United is not the club that they used to be and they’re not ready to win stuff.
“I think Liverpool would be a good fit with [Virgil] van Dijk, that would be fantastic.
Paris Saint-Germain as well with Marquinhos, there would be two great central defenders.
“I think Chelsea will need a player like that. I don’t know if Koulibaly will be interested, but even if they have two very good central defenders, Koulibaly I think belongs to another level and would fit very well.
“I know he has a link with Liverpool, Van Dijk and Koulibaly at the back – my God, that’s going to be another Red season I guess.
“Definitely with Van Dijk, and when you’re a defender like Koulibaly, that would be the best central defence in the world.”
Chelsea have been urged to follow through with a plan to sign Declan Rice from West Ham United ahead of the summer window.
Now look, we all know that Rice has been brilliant for the Hammers this season and is ready to make that step up, and we all also know that Frank Lampard is a massive admirer of the man, and could even move him back into defence if he made the move.
But we also know that there has been some doubt as to whether a move will actually be made as the Hammers are valuing the man at around the £80 million mark, which is well above what Chelsea are reportedly willing to pay to get the man.
But Premier League legend Kevin Phillips believes a season with West Ham – with Rice heading in the other direction – would make sense for both parties and that Chelsea should follow through with a plan to sign the Englishman.
“I think that deal is good for both parties,” Phillips told Football Insider.
“West Ham have not defended well and Tomori has shown that he is a good defender.
“He did a great job at Derby, nearly helped them to the Premier League and has been in and out of the Chelsea side this year.
“Tomori gets regular game time at West Ham and Rice comes in to replace Jorginho because he could be moving on at the end of the season. That could be the perfect position for Declan Rice to slip into.
“I like Rice. He will just get better and better, especially in a better side where he is surrounded by world class players. That would be good business.”
Chelsea are reportedly hoping to seal a huge move for Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak by sending Kepa Arrizabalaga the other way.
There has been a lot of speculation in the media over the past few months which has suggested that Frank Lampard is keen to offload Spanish stopper Kepa in the summer after becoming frustrated at the young mans performances on a weekly basis.
And that has led to speculation in the media suggesting that Lampard is keen to add a new stopper to the side, with Madrid ace Oblak on the shopping list of the Chelsea boss after establishing himself over in La Liga.
The 27-year-old is widely considered the best keeper on the planet and the Blues are looking to tempt him to west London by offering Atletico Madrid Kepa plus a transfer fee on top, according to the Daily Mirror.
Oblak’s release clause at Atletico is an enormous £120m, but throwing Kepa into the deal is Chelsea’s ploy to reduce this price significantly, although the Spaniards have shown no interest in letting one of their biggest players leave the club.
But with the coronavirus hitting all the big clubs financially, taking a big chunk of money plus kepa may mean that Madrid get a few extra funds to help improve the side during the transfer window.
Chelsea target Jack Grealish has not seen sufficient ambition from Aston Villa to keep him at the club, according to former captain Stiliyan Petrov.
Grealish has been in the headlines for all the right reasons this season, despite the relegation battle that Villa have been in, and that has led to much speculation in the media that Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are really keen to try and nail down his services in the transfer window.
And ahead of the summer transfer window, Petrov suggests the 1982 European Cup winners have not matched Grealish’s needs and ambitions, and And in turn that leads to the inevitable suspicion he will call time on his Villa career.
Speaking to Stats Perform News , Petrov said: “As a Villa fan I’d love him to stay. Jack likes to compete, he wants to do that at the highest level. He loves the club. He showed that in the Championship, he helped us get promotion, he battled hard in the Premier League.
“If that moment comes [when Grealish leaves], it would be sad to see because he is an exceptional person, not just player. But as a club, have we done enough to keep him?
“I don’t think so and it’s a big problem going forward as a club, because we may get good players through the youth system, but can we do enough to keep them?
“If he goes, I don’t think he can be blamed.”
“Jack has a growth mindset,” Petrov said. “He likes to improve, he wants to achieve.
“He likes to be in the spotlight, wants to be counted. He wants to compete at the highest level.
“Of course, he will generate interest from the top clubs because he does perform. If you remember, Pep Guardiola said he’s one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
“That compliment comes from one of the best managers in the world. Those managers don’t waste their words saying this about someone who doesn’t deserve it.
“That’s why Pep came out and said he’s one of the best and his performances this season have attracted attention. It’s completely normal.
Chelsea have reportedly asked Manchester United to name their price for Dean Henderson ahead of the summer window
There has been alot of transfer speculation in the media suggesting that Frank Lampard is keen to sign a new stopper in the summer transfer window as he has not been impressed by the performances of Kepa, who has struggled between the sticks.
And that has led to some speculation in the media suggesting that Chelsea are ready to make a move and try to bring in Henderson from United, as there is some talk in the media suggesting that he is stalled on a new deal at Old Trafford.
Reports on the Daily Mirror website have claimed Lampard has finally run out of patience with £71.6million man Kepa Arrizabalaga after a turbulent second season in England, and
Lampard hopes to make red-hot Sheff Utd loanee Henderson his new No1.
The on-loan Manchester United ace, 23, has kept 12 clean sheets in 32 Premier League games this season – including during the Blades’ 3-0 win over Chelsea at the weekend, and he is tipped to head back to Old Trafford at some point to challenge David De Gea for that number one spot.
De Gea has suffered a difficult season between the sticks at Old Trafford, and there is talk the Norwegian could hand the young England star the starting spot if the Spaniard fails to get back to his very best.
However, Henderson also knows that De Gea is one of the best stoppers in the game right now and he may not get the opportunity to be the clubs number one at a time when he is showing some of his best performances.
Chelsea would be a place where he could make a name for himself and considering they need a new stopper, could be the ideal place to move too if United do decide to let him leave in the coming window.
But considering Solskjaer is a big fan, that would be a shock to see happen.
