Chasers to contenders! £250 million trio to be signed by Solskjaer and make Manchester United challengers again next season?
Manchester United are a side that need to spend some big money in the summer and buy some world class players, especially if they want to challenge for a Premier League title.
After a disappointing January transfer window, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows he needs the backing of the board in the summer to acquire some world-class players to close the gap on Liverpool and Manchester City.
There has been a lot of speculation about the type of players that United may seek to sign in the summer, but there are certain areas of the pitch that need a lot of work, and a lot of money being spend, and to get back to challenging for that title we’ve chosen the three perfect players that can immediately get the club challenging once again.
Kalidou Koulibaly – Napoli.
This one is a very long-shot as Koulibaly has a massive £100 million price tag. But rather than spending £20 million here, £30 million there, £40 million here, United need to go out and buy the best.
They need a leader, which Koulibaly is, they need a winner, which Koulibaly is, they need someone that will be able to cope with the best strikers in the game, something Koulibaly does on a weekly basis.
He is strong, powerhouse, great with the ball and has great pace, but most importantly, as we said, he is the leader that this United back-line needs to sort out their many defensive issues.
James Maddison – Leicester City.
Now there are not too many players in the Premier League better than Maddison right now, he is a creative force and the main reason why Jamie Vardy has rediscovered his goal-scoring touch this year.
Manchester United are favourites to win the signature for Maddison, but United will be looking to offload a number of fringe players in the summer, and if they raise enough funds, or Solskjaer gets the money he needs, £70 million on Maddison would be a good investment.
He is a top-class midfielder that will improve this United midfield, and considering he is relatively young, he would be the kind of player that would be seen as a great long-term investment.
He is Solskjaer’s kind of player.
Timo Werner – RB Leipzig.
Werner is taking the game by storm this season, as he’s netted over 26 goals in all competitions and is heavily tipped to make the move to the Premier League in the summer.
United would only have to pay around £68 million for the man that is tipped to become one of the games very best strikers, and if United can seal a deal, he would score them 30-plus goals a season on a yearly basis.
United will be linked with all sorts of players over the next few months, but £250 million on these three players would get the club challenging for that Premier League title.
They just need to be more ambitious than they have been in previous windows.
