Announcement imminent – Boehly to make £60M Frenchman is ‘first Chelsea statement signing’
It has been claimed that Ted Boehly will make Sevilla star Jules Kounde his first Chelsea signing.
A deal has finally been agreed between Roman Abramovich and the UK Government over the sale of Chelsea that has allowed Todd Boehly’s takeover of the football club.
It is widely expected that the American will hand Thomas Tuchel some funds in order to sign a few players that the club seriously need 0 and now it means that Chelsea fans can start planning for some big arrivals in the summer – starting with Kound
Thomas Tuchel is in desperate need of defensive reinforcements after it became apparent that both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen are intending to leave the club for Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.
The 23-year-old Kounde has been a long-term target of the London club, and will be a statement of intent from new owner Boehly, who has indicted that significant funds will be available.
A deal for the French defender – equally comfortable at right-back or centre-half – is expected to cost the Blues in the region of £60million, and will now be on step closer now that the takeover has been confirmed
Kounde already has agreed personal terms over that move to Stamford Bridge – and he will be the immediate replacement for the departing Antonio Rudiger – who is joining Barcelona on a deal worth £325,000-a-week
