£50m defender addresses Man United rumours, Midfielder expecting offers for £68m Man United target and Red Devils ‘have gone to war’ against Football

Rakitic expecting Kounde offers, Torres addresses rumours and Man United go to war on football in Manchester United roundup…

Ivan Rakitic can “understand” why a big-money transfer may appeal to Sevilla team-mate Jules Kounde this summer, with Manchester United just one club reportedly interested in a transfer deal.

Despite doing a great job since his arrival at Ole Trafford, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows that he needs to add another defender to the squad in the coming transfer window as he needs to strengthen that area of the pitch.

And that has led to many reports in the media that the Red Devils are very much interested in trying to secure a transfer deal for Kounde, who is also attracting Premier League interest from Manchester City, Arsena and Liverpool.

Rakitic believes more offers will be put on the table in the next window, with the opportunity to link up with title-chasing heavyweights holding obvious appeal to an ambitious youngster.

Rakitic has told DjMaRiiO: “A boy like Kounde, at his age, if he gets an offer from one of the biggest clubs in the world, you have to understand the kid and his situation.”

Solskjaer will surely get alot of money to spend in the transfer window as the board will surely believe that he can guide the club back to the very top of the game, and it will be interesting to see whom he acquires.

But if they did sign Kounde in the transfer window, he would be a very good investment by the club and certainly a player that they can help mould into one of the vert best defenders in world football.

Highly-rated Manchester United target Pau Torres as responded to the speculation surrounding his future in the summer transfer window.

A product of Villarreal’s academy system has taken in 77 appearances for the Yellow Submarine and after establishing himself as a regular in that starting squad, his regular ole has been enjoyed across the last two seasons, allowing seven international caps to be claimed.

His performances for both Spain and Villareal has led to alot of speculation that United have joined the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea in the chase to try and get a transfer deal done, especially as the young man has a bright future in the game.

The 24-year-old Spain international is aware of the interest he is attracting, but claims to be paying little attention to it as his focus remains locked on the present.

Torres has told El Transistor on the rumours he is generating: “I’m very calm, I have a contract with the club in my town and I’m enjoying it.

“I have to work to help my team.”

There is no doubt that Torres is attracting all the right interest because of his performances and he is at that stage of his career that he needs to join a big club in order to take that next step in his career.

Torres would be a brilliant buy for United and the Premier League and that £50 million asking price is quite a low one for such a gifted player. It will be interesting to see where he ends up, but if United could get him, he would be a brilliant signing for the club

Rio Ferdinand has admitted to being “embarrassed” by Manchester United’s involvement in the European Super League plans.

It has been reported that a total of 20 clubs will participate in the European Super League including those from England, with AC Milan, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus and Real Madrid having also been confirmed among the founding members of the competition.

Ferdinand has been among those to criticise the proposal, insisting that the core values of the game are now at risk due to what he perceives as a shameless money-grab.

Asked if all of the club’s that have agreed to break away should face sanctions, the former Red Devils defender told BT Sport: “100%. I think this breakaway group of teams, this is a war on football. It’s a disgrace. It’s embarrassing. And it goes against everything football is about.

“There’s no consideration for the history, for the people in the different parts of the pyramid below the top, top teams that they’re trying to separate from.

“It’s a disgrace, I can’t believe it. How have they got the audacity to do it in the climate we’re in at the moment with the pandemic around the world?

“I think the element of being anti-competitive goes against everything football is about. Relegation, promotion, being rewarded for winning, being punished for not winning: these are things that add to the value of our game that we love.

“It shows me that these people have no idea what football is about. It’s purely a business transaction, that’s it. There’s no thought for anyone else in the pyramid, there’s no consideration at all. I can’t believe it”

Ferdinand added on United’s involvement: “I’m embarrassed. There’s been so many things thrown at the owners over the past few years, but this situation now – to be a part of that group that want to break away and leave everybody for dead – that’s an embarrassment.

“I can’t believe it. I’m sorry, I’m a Man United fan, I love the club, but I can’t stand by and support something like that at all.”
